Role Location:

Halls 3 & 4

Role Summary:

Night Stock and Tidy Crew volunteers will provide support to replenish at the start of the day. 

Specific Tasks:
  1. Follow guidance from the supervisor, assist with replenishing stock
  2. Return any books or items placed in the wrong category back in the correct section (for instance a cookery book found in paperback fiction is to be returned to the cookery section)
  3. Gather books, games and magazines that have been left on the floor, around the hall walls or at sale points and return to tables
  4. If restock not required, assist with the tidying of the tables to fill empty spaces.

Desired Requirements:

It is preferable that volunteers in this role love books and have a basic understanding of book categories.

 

An excellent level of fitness is required as volunteers are on their feet, walking on the hard concrete floor. Lifting and stretching are a requirement for this role. A basic understanding of manual handling procedures (the correct way to lift heavy/large items) would be of benefit although manual handling training will be provided.

Breaks:

Tea/coffee station available.  Morning tea provided.  Refrigerators available for the storage of your own refreshments.  Cafes and restaurants are nearby.

 

Note:

A high-visibility vest and gloves are provided for this role. Remember to wear cool comfortable clothes and comfortable shoes as you will be walking on a hard concrete floor.

 

It can be hot during summer months, bring a water bottle. Water for refill is available in Volunteer sign-in area.

Advise a Lifeline team member if you require a break.

It is an essential requirement of this role that volunteers wear enclosed shoes.
