 QUEUE MANAGEMENT

Book Tidy and Customer Service Attendant

 

 

Venue Name:

Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, Merivale Street, South Bank

Reporting Location:

Volunteer Check-in, Exhibition Hall 4

Reporting To:

Volunteer Supervisor

Role Location:

Halls 3 & 4

Role Summary:

To work alongside other team members to direct customers to available sale points, and assist customers with direction to exits and other facilities in the halls.

Specific Tasks:

  1. Greet customers when they arrive at front of queue for sale points
  2. Direct customers in the queues to available sale points
  3. Provide customers with assistance if they have a quantity of books and no bag, they may require a trolley
  4. Assist customers with directions to exits, bathrooms and cafes
  5. Contact a staff member if you require assistance to help customers 

Desired Requirements:

It is preferable that volunteers in this role have had some level of customer service experience and love to meet people. During busy shifts (weekends), the ability to efficiently communicate with a large volume of customers is required.

Breaks:

Breaks are provided for the morning and afternoon shifts and a light lunch is provided for volunteers rostered for  the whole day.

 

Refrigerators will be available for storage of your own provision

 

Note:

Wear comfortable clothing and comfortable shoes, there is a lot of standing and walking on hard flooring.

 

It is a requirement for all volunteers and staff working at this event to wear enclosed shoes.

 

On-job training will be provided.
