Volunteering for The Air Ambulance Service (TAAS) is a deeply rewarding way to make a meaningful impact. By becoming a volunteer, you become part of a dedicated team helping to save lives every day.
Our vision: To ensure children grow into adults, for adults to live longer and for families to stay together, as bereavement through trauma becomes rare.
Your time, passion, and commitment as a volunteer could be invaluable to TAAS as we work together toward our vison; whether you can give a few hours a week or help with one-off events, every single contribution counts.
Volunteering also offers a rewarding opportunity for personal growth and fulfillment. Volunteers with TAAS come from every walk of life and the benefits gained from their time can include:
- Meeting like minded people and developing connections
- Making a positive contribution to local communities
- Developing new skills through work experience and training
- Developing a meaningful sense of purpose
- Experience teamwork, problem solving and communication
- Raising much needed funds to keep TAAS saving lives
- Sharing and utilising your business skills
If you think that volunteering for TAAS may be for you, then please take a look at our opportunities. We are flexible, so please contact us if you don’t see what you are looking for, or if you'd like a chat to find out more.

Mission Statement
Our Mission:
Our rapid response services work tirelessly to save lives and alleviate pain and suffering, whenever and wherever needed.
Our Values
Compassion - We success because we care. We care about our patients, our supporters, our partners and our colleagues. We act with dignity, humanity, integrity and respect.
Courage - We succeed because we dare. We are bold, pioneering and brave enough to ask questions of ourselves and others whilst actions are taken with responsibility.
Creativity - We succeed because we innovate. We recognise new ideas, big and small, are essential for future growth. We are curious, we embrace change, and we rise to the challenge.
An exceptional volunteer team
In 2024, the exceptional team of 1,400 TAAS volunteers dedicated over 230,000 hours to support our mission. We are incredibly proud that to date TAAS has achieved more than 50,000 missions, and in 2024 alone there were 3,975 missions.
We would not be able to save lives as we do without volunteers. To all TAAS volunteers we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for all you do.
If you'd like to be part of the team please see our opportunities on the left of this page.
