City of Greater Bendigo

The City of Greater Bendigo has suspended the volunteer program until further notice.

We know this will be disappointing for many of you, especially those who have been volunteering recently and for those who have expressed an interest by applying to volunteer with us.

The impact COVID-19 is having on our cities and towns is changing constantly. We have made the decision to take this action in line with current advice.

This cancellation of shifts will be effective immediately. The City has also suspended the application process.

Volunteers are a highly valued and very important part of our organisation. We appreciate the time, effort and commitment volunteers give to our City and community.

Please remember to keep an eye on your myimpactpage for new information and training opportunities.

This link will take you to Help Your Neighbour which may help in finding other volunteer opportunities. An example is Bendigo Foodshare, who are looking for volunteers at this time.

Valuable information can also be found on our media release page.

Keep safe and well.

Acknowledgement of Country

“We acknowledge that the City of Greater Bendigo is on Dja Dja Wurrung and Taungurung Country.

I would like to acknowledge and extend my appreciation for the Dja Dja Wurrung people, the Traditional Owners of the land that we are standing on today.

Today, we pay our respects to leaders and Elder’s past, present and emerging for they hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and the hopes of all Dja Dja Wurrung* people.

We express our gratitude in the sharing of this land, our sorrow for the personal, spiritual and cultural costs of that sharing and our hope that we may walk forward together in harmony and in the spirit of healing”.
