Volunteering with Redland City Council

Welcome to Redland City Council's Volunteer Portal

Council is proud to have over 400 valued volunteers who contribute significantly to many of Council's programs and services.

Volunteering allows individuals the opportunity to connect with their community, and offers a chance to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge. Volunteers are engaged to assist Council in meeting its aims and objectives and are valuable team members, undertaking unpaid work on a voluntary basis.

Council's Volunteering Programs:

Our current Volunteer Programs are all listed under Volunteer Programs in the search section on this page.  An overview of the program is accessed via the link, providing you with information you need to select a program that best meets your skills, interests and time commitments.

How to apply:

On each Program page you will find a "Fill in an application" box which will prompt you to create a profile via this portal (MyImpact) and complete an on-line application form.  It is recommended that you use your email address as your Username when creating your profile.

Contact details are also available on each page should you require assistance with your application.

Please note that from time to time volunteer programs reach capacity and are not able to provide volunteer placements.

All applications submitted will be considered and assessed in a non-discriminatory manner, taking into account the person’s ability to perform the duties of the volunteer role, and also any site or program specific requirements.

Our commitment to volunteers:

Council is committed to ensuring the management of volunteers is undertaken in accordance with Volunteering Australia's "National Standards for Volunteer Involvement" and strives to pursue the highest possible standard for a supportive, safe and healthy work environment for all volunteers.

Redland City Council has in place public liability and personal accident insurances which will offer some protection for volunteers between the ages of 12-85 (cover reduces from age 75) who may be injured in the course of their service to both Council and the community, including their travelling to and from the location where the work is to be performed.

Volunteer Portal - MyImpact:

Council uses a software program “MyImpact” for the management of volunteers (this portal), which you will use to apply for a volunteer role.  At the time of applying for a volunteer role, a profile will be created for you in MyImpact.

MyImpact captures relevant details about our volunteers and activities in its secure portal, which can be accessed by accepted volunteers at any time by logging in on a computer or via the MyImpact App on a mobile device.

Volunteers use this system for the following:

  • logging volunteer hours;
  • to keep contact details and emergency contacts up to date;
  • view information relative to upcoming shifts and activities;
  • undertake on-line training; and
  • access relevant documentation eg. manuals and work instructions.

Not interested in volunteering but still want to be involved in a community program?
