IMPORTANT NOTE: We typically recruit for volunteers three times per year: February, June and September. If the role you’re looking for is not currently available please check back on the IWM website during this time.

Our Volunteering & Engagement Vision & Mission

We are one of the world’s leading authorities on conflict and its impact on people’s lives – from 1914 through to the present day and beyond.

We expect our stories to change the way people think about war and we are proud to be regarded as essential sights of London, Cambridgeshire and Greater Manchester.

Our Vision is for people everywhere to seek IWM out as the place to volunteer through a volunteering programme that is impactful, flexible and appealing.

Our Mission is to inspire a deeper understanding of the causes, and consequences of war through providing a range of volunteering opportunities that empower, educate and inform.
