We are looking for friendly and motivated events volunteers to assist with a range of tasks, including customer service, venue support, event operations, wayfinding and surveying, during the Lord Mayor’s Student Welcome event.
The Lord Mayor's Student Welcome event is a free, large-scale event run by the City of Melbourne. This event welcomes new students to the city and recognises and celebrates international students’ contributions to the cultural life and diversity of Melbourne.
The Lord Mayor's Student Welcome will be held on Wednesday 12 March 2025.
The Lord Mayor’s Student Welcome volunteer program provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to an important Melbourne event.
Applications will open on 10 February until 17 February.

Want to be part of a leadership program that can provide impact to the international student community?
The City of Melbourne student ambassadors plays a key role in co-designing, leading, supporting and promoting initiatives of the City of Melbourne. Our 2024 ambassadors have led Student Welcome tours that welcome new students to Melbourne, cooking demonstrations, promotional photoshoots, student podcasts and supporting corporate to community events.
Program will be from April 2025 to November 2025 and we are looking for international students that committed to learning, promoting City of Melbourne and giving back to community.

We typically recruit twice a year for event volunteers. See dates below. We will not be taking on volunteers outside of these recruitment dates.
