Volunteer Roles
Licensed Behavioral Health Professional or MSW Student Intern
Our behavioral health team utilizes master's level and above clinically licensed people or students in a master's level program requiring an internship of over 500 hours for the few volunteer roles available with Hope Clinic's behavioral health team each year.
- If you are a student in a master level program in a behavioral health field interested in an internship, please email your resume and details about your internship request to jpayne@thehopeclinic.org to be considered for our competitive internship opportunity.
- If you are a fully licensed professional who desires to help uninsured people with clinical services, we are looking for practices as referral sources for pro-bono specialty counseling and would love to discuss having you as a referral resource.
First Impressions Team
Acting as an initial point of contact for Hope Clinic clients, volunteers, and guests, the F.I.T. team ensures smooth and efficient Front Desk operations and maintaining a welcoming environment for visitors.
Interpreter/Translator
Providing interpretation and translation services to Hope Clinic clients. Most frequent needs include Spanish, Arabic, French, Dari, Pashto, Albanian, among others.

Dental hygienists with an active U.S. license that can commit to 6-12 months of consistent volunteering at our Ypsilanti location.

Dentists with an active U.S. license that can commit to 6-12 months of consistent volunteering at our Ypsilanti location.

Dental Assistants that can commit to 6-12 months of consistent volunteering at our Ypsilanti location.
Food & Basics Needs

Volunteer Opportunities
Food Pantry
Distribution shifts for food and basic needs items out of our main building, shifts for stocking and cleaning in preparation for the distributions, and shifts for unloading the delivery truck.

Medical


Hope’s Medical Clinics offer free care for the uninsured.
Clinical Role Requirements (for providing patient care):
- Currently hold an active medical license
- MAs trained on the job can provide a letter of recommendation in lieu of a certification
- At least 2 years of direct patient care experience in a paid setting
All volunteers in our medical clinics (Ypsilanti and Westland) must commit to at least 12-months of service.
We do not offer shadowing in our clinics.
Volunteer Roles
Clinical Associate (RN, MA, EMT, etc.)
Clinical Associates (CA’s) bring patients into the exam room, take vitals and record the chief concern for the visit.
Ideal for those with the following licenses/certifications: BSN, RN, LPN, EMT, MA, PCT.
Must commit to at least one full year volunteer time.

Licensed Medical Clinician (MD, DO, NP, etc.)
Medical professionals with an active license that can diagnose and treat patients at the Hope Clinic Ypsilanti and Westland locations.
Requires current license to practice.

Medical Front Desk Receptionist
Volunteers that can commit to 12-months of consistent volunteering at either our Ypsilanti or Westland clinics (primarily Ypsilanti).
This role spends a lot of time answering phone calls and interacting with patients.

Licensed Pharmacists & Pharmacy Techs
Medical professionals with an active license/certification that can commit to 12-months of consistent volunteering at our Ypsilanti clinic.
