DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS and REHABILITATION
12-Step -Alcoholic Anonymous Facilitator Volunteer
(One year of sobriety required)
OBJECTIVE: Create a community link to sobriety for adults returning to the community through learning and experiencing Alcoholic Anonymous 12 step meetings
MAIN FUNCTIONS:
Introduction to the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous program
Lead Alcoholic Anonymous 12 steps meetings for residents at the Adult Correctional Facility in Plymouth.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Have at least one year of sobriety currently attending Alcoholics Anonymous 12 step meetings in the community.
- Carry the message of the living clean and sober
- Knowledge of appropriate professional boundaries in a correctional setting.
TRAINING:
- General orientation to the Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation; training to site specific protocols and policy mandates provided by task supervisor.
- On-going department/division training as appropriate.
SUPERVISION: Task Supervisor at the Adult Correctional Facility.
TIME COMMITMENT: 1.5 hours Actual meeting or presentation 45 minutes to 1 hour.
