Daventry Warehouse

Overview

We are looking for volunteers to join the team in our Daventry Warehouse, from here we operate several different functions which include: Reuse, Asset Recovery, Online trading and New Goods. These are some of the fastest growing areas of the charity. Unfortunately we are unable to accept any volunteers aged under 18 at our warehouse.

The Warehouse is located at: Unit 1b, West March Industrial Estate, Daventry NN11 4SA. 
The opening hours are: Monday- Friday 9am-5pm

Volunteering is very flexible, you can either commit to set hours each week or join us on a more flexible basis. Any time you can give helps us to fund our lifesaving missions. 

In return we will give you all the training you need to be successful in the role, support from  management, and the opportunity to gain experience working for a national charity.

*We now require all Volunteers to complete a basic DBS check and provide two references, you will be contacted regarding these as part of the application process.

 

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer E-Commerce Assistant

We are looking for new volunteers to join our e-commerce team in Daventry. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain an insight into the world of online trading and learn new skills.

You would be able to get involved in the whole product journey including:

  • Writing engaging product descriptions to sell online
  • Learning how to list items for sale on various platforms including E-bay, Amazon and Facebook
  • Use your creativity to photograph items to encourage maximum sales
  • Sorting through stock to select items which will generate the most income online
  • Packing sold items ready for them to be delivered
  • Understanding the logistics of online sales by liaising with van drivers and couriers to track the delivery of products
  • Using social media to help us to grow the presence of our online business
  • Communicating with other internal teams and shops
  • Producing reports on income generated through online sales

In 2018 our E-commerce team raised enough income to fund 347 of our lifesaving missions. It is one of the fastest growing parts of our charity so you would have the chance to make a real impact and learn unique skills which you could apply to your future career.

Volunteer New Goods Assistant

We are looking for volunteers to join our New Goods team in Daventry. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain an insight into the world of retail and learn new skills.

You would be able to get involved in the whole product journey including:

  • Prepping stock ready for dispatch
  • General warehouse duties (Picking & Packing)
  • Sourcing new suppliers and stock for our growing department
  • Creating and pricing products on our back office systems
  • Keeping an eye on stock levels for shops
  • Ordering top up stock for our shops
  • Communicating with other internal teams and shops

The New Goods Department is one of the quickest growing departments in the charity, constantly expanding our product offering within our shops and eventually online. It is a great opportunity to learn some new skills for your future career.

Volunteer Warehouse Assistant

We are looking for warehouse assistants to join our online and reuse teams based in our Daventry Warehouse. If you are looking for a new challenge then this could be the volunteer role for you!

As A Volunteer Warehouse Assistant you could get involved in:

  • Helping the team to manage the incoming eBay and Amazon stock from our shops
  • Finding and removing unsold stock
  • Packing sold items up so that they are ready to dispatch
  • Checking incoming stock for eBay and Amazon

This role is warehouse based and requires a small amount of computer use but we can provide full training on how to do this.

Some aspects of the Warehouse Assistant role would require lifting boxes but not all. Full health and safety training would be provided and we can tailor the role to suit the volunteer and their own skills and interests.

Volunteer Admin Assistant

Are you highly organised and looking for a new way to use your skills to help a great cause? Our Volunteer Admin Assistant role could be the opportunity you are looking for!


As a Volunteer Admin Assistant you could get involved in the admin of the daily running of our online sites including Amazon and eBay and learn skills including:

  • Running sales reports
  • Conducting sales analysis
  • Processing data
  • Assisting with invoicing
  • Creating and distributing team communications
  • Writing product descriptions ready for them to be listed for sale
  • Assisting with general admin support as and when required.

 

Ideally you will have some experience of using computers but we can train you on how to use the specific programmes that our online teams use.

Volunteer Cleaner

Do you love to keep things clean and would like to help a fantastic cause?

Our Daventry Warehouse is undergoing a refurb and we are looking for a volunteer to help us to keep it clean and tidy so that our Online Trading, Reuse, New Goods and Asset Recovery teams can run smoothly.

As a Volunteer Cleaner you would be helping the team to keep on top of communal areas within the warehouse such as the kitchen, reception and office spaces. This would be a huge help to our Daventry Team!

Volunteer Re-Use Clothing Bank Support

Are you organised and looking for a new way to use your skills to help a great cause? Our Volunteer Re-Use Clothing Bank Support role could be the opportunity you are looking for!


As a Re-Use Clothing Bank Support Volunteer you could get involved in the admin of the daily running of our clothing banks and learn skills including:

    • Updating database with new clothing bank contracts
    • Research data for new clothing bank locations
    • Filing
    • Follow up email or phone calls for prospective bank locations
    • Assist the team with ad-hoc work
    • Printing and posting of literature and contracts

 

Ideally you will have some experience of using computers but we can train you on how to use the specific programmes that our teams use.

Volunteer E-Commerce Picker/Packer

We are looking for new volunteers to join our E-commerce team in Daventry. Our E-commerce team is one of the fastest growing parts of our charity so you would have the chance to make a real impact.

 We need help with the following tasks:

  • Picking items that have been sold on eBay and/or
  • Packing and labelling items for despatch.

Volunteer Project Opportunities

Overview

We have Volunteer project opportunities here at The Air Ambulance Service which we are looking for teams of people to help us with. 

We are looking for everyone who wants to get involved to feel engaged, have fun and raise awareness and much needed funds to keep our helicopters flying.

Volunteering is great for team building, creating new friendships, helps with organisational and creative skills.

It helps build confidence and helps learn new skills and is a great addition to your CV.

We do require volunteers to complete a DBS and provide 2 references as part of the onboarding process, you will be contacted regarding this. 

Opportunities

Design Challenge

Do you have a flare for fashion? Have you got experience or do you want to try your hand at upcycling? 

Then this Challenge could just be for you!

We are looking for teams of volunteers to compete to organise a clothing bank in their location whether it is a University or club for people to donate their unwanted clothing.

Within this challenge you would :

  • Use the garments to create other items such as bags and clothing upcycling
  • Hold a fashion show to showcase your items
  • Sell / Auction the items after the show.
  • Donated the remaining items to your local Air Ambulance shop.

All teams will receive an achievement award certificate and the team who raises the most money will also receive a goodie bag. 

A dedicated Air Ambulance staff member will support you with anything you need. 

Volunteering is a great addition to your CV. 

Pub Club Challenge

Do you and your friends enjoy socialising and meeting new people?

 You could do this and also raise vital funds for us!

 

 With Our Pub Club Challenge you would be involved in:

  •  In teams of 2, visit local pubs to encourage landlords to join our Pub Club.
  • Involve your local community to fundraise for The Air Ambulance service.
  • Suggest events and activities that would be good for fundraising ideas
  • The winning team will be the one that signs up the post Pubs!

All teams will receive an achievement award certificate and the winning team will receive goodie bags.

You will be supported by a dedicated Air Ambulance staff member who will provide training and ongoing support and any collateral and materials you may need.

Fundraising Month Challenge

Are you and your friends good at organising? Do you enjoy meeting people and have great ideas for fundraising?

Then this challenge is for you the skies the limit so be creative!

We are looking for teams of friends to compete over a month period to organise fundraising activities to see who can fundraise the most to raise vital funds to keep our helicopters flying.

You could organise:

  • Bake sales
  • Sponsored events- walks/silences?
  • pub quiz
  • Silent Disco
