Store Information
We are looking for volunteers to join the team in our Daventry Home shop to support in all areas including: generating stock, merchandising, processing donations, raising awareness locally, assisting on the shop floor or supporting behind the scenes with social media and online sales.
The store is located at: 29, High Street, Daventry, NN11 4BG
The opening hours are: Monday- Saturday 9am-5pm Sunday 10am-4pm
This is a great opportunity to become part of a great team, meet new people and gain retail skills.
Volunteering in our shops is very flexible, you can either commit to set hours each week or join us on a more flexible basis. Any time you can give helps us to fund our lifesaving missions.
In return we will give you all the training you need to be successful in the role, support from store management, a staff discount of 25% and the opportunity to gain experience working for a national charity.

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer Shop Floor Assistant
As a Volunteer Shop Floor Assistant, you would be the front face of the charity interacting with the public, so we are always looking for new friendly faces to join us!
Our volunteers are essential in everything we do, last year contributing over 226,000 hours of their time to save lives.
Some of the tasks you could be involved in:
- Serving customers at the tills
- Assisting customers on the shop floor
- Visual merchandising of windows & shop displays
- Sorting stock
- Updating our social media posts
- Promoting Gift Aid

Volunteer Treasure Hunter
Do you have a keen eye for finding unique things?
Are you able to find a Gem in our donations?
We are looking for volunteers to assess our donated stock to maximise the value of our donations to sell in our eBay Shop.
You may already have a good knowledge of antiques & collectables or be able to research our donations.
Are you able to find a gem amongst our donations?
If so, join our volunteer team & help us keep flying & continue to save lives.
Volunteer Furniture Upcycler
Are you great at upcycling furniture, if so you could help us by turning unwanted items into unique masterpieces for us to sell to make the most of every donation.
Some of the tasks you could be involved in:
- Choosing items to upcycle that have been donated
- Repairing items if need before upcycling
- Upcycling furniture to sell in our stores

Previous experience of upcyling & furniture repair would be great but as long as you have an artistic flair you’ll be provided with all the training and tools you need.
This role is very flexible, any time you can give helps us to fund our lifesaving missions. As the charity will invest time in processing your application and providing you with training to carry out your role, ideally we ask that you volunteer for a minimum of 4 hours per week.
Warehouse Assistant/ Drivers Mate
We are looking for warehouse assistants to join our Daventry Home Shop
As a Volunteer Warehouse Assistant you could get involved in:
- Helping the team to remove sold furniture from the shop floor and replace with new stock
- Assist drivers with furniture deliveries
- Help with organisation and movement of incoming stock
- Checking incoming stock
Please note- this volunteer role would require heavy lifting

Volunteer Stock Processor
As a Volunteer Stock Processor, you would be a key part of the charity preparing our donated stock ready for sale, if you have a few hours a week to spare come & join us!

Some of the tasks you could be involved in:
- Sorting, steaming & tagging stock
- Visual merchandising of windows & shop displays
- Updating our social media posts
- Receiving donations
