Our Rugby Head Office is where the central services for the charity are based including Marketing, Fundraising, Finance, HR, Volunteering and Supporter Care. 

Volunteer Opportunities

Head Office Fundraising Volunteer

We are looking for office volunteers to join our Fundraising Department in our Rugby Head Office. If you are looking for a new challenge then we need your help to keep the charity running smoothly.

 

There are many different areas we would love your support with including:

  • Administrative support to our fundraising teams
  • Maintaining databases and inputting data
  • Organising and distributing fundraising collateral to supporters and volunteers
  • Stockroom control and monitoring
  • Carrying out desk-based research
  • Leading or supporting fundraising projects and events planning and execution

What you will need:

  • Enthusiasm and passion for our work
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Confidence and skills in working on a computer- particularly databases and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Enjoyment from being part of a team but also happy to carry out tasks independently
  • The ability to commit to at least half a day, once a fortnight, or more.

 

Our office is open Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm so we can accommodate any hours you are able to volunteer within these times.

 

For those that would like to, there is also the opportunity to volunteer at fundraising events in the community.

 

We will give you a full induction to all aspects of the role and you will have ongoing support from the team and a dedicated ‘go to’ team member. You will also have the opportunity to develop new skills to build your CV and gain invaluable experience working for a leading charity.

#TheCrew Office Volunteer

We are looking for office volunteers to join our #TheCrew team based in our Rugby Head Office - Blue Skies House, Butlers Leap, Rugby CV21 3RQ.

#TheCrew is an exciting club for children and young people, where members can learn new skills, have access to special events and support the vital work of the Children’s Air Ambulance.  We are looking for a volunteer to help us grow our reach and recruit new members.

 

 

 

You could get involved in:

  • Helping to register new #TheCrew members on our database
  • Helping to send membership packs out
  • Updating our database and other general administration tasks.

    What you will need:

  • Enthusiasm and passion for our work
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Confidence and skills in working on a computer- particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • The ability to commit to at least half a day once a week or more.

Volunteer Stock Management Assistant

We are looking for a volunteer to join our Head Office team in Rugby and support us with managing stock in our store room, out in the community and with our suppliers. If you have great organisational skills then this could be the new challenge for you!


This role would be very varied and some of the tasks we would love your support with are:

  • Using excel to set up and continually manage a database of stock levels across various areas.
  • Working with the fundraising team to manage the stock our volunteers are using
  • Keeping the stock room tidy and carrying out regular checks and stock takes
  • Setting up and monitoring a logging in and out process of equipment e.g gazebos, banners, cheques
  • Sorting and checking returned stock to ensure it is in the correct area of stockroom and in working order


What you will need:

  • Passion and enthusiasm for stock management
  • To be comfortable using excel and databases
  • To be organised and methodical
  • Enjoyment from being part of a team but also happy to carry out tasks independently
  • The ability to ideally commit to 4-7 hours per week

Volunteer Team Administrator

We are looking for volunteers to join our central Volunteering Team in our Rugby Head Office to help us ensure that all of our volunteers across the charity have the best possible experience.

You would be able to get involved in supporting the whole volunteer journey including:

  • Advertising opportunities for new volunteers to join us
  • Responding to applications from potential volunteers
  • Keeping our database of volunteer records up to date
  • Making contact with local groups and volunteer centres to spread awareness about our charity.
  • Helping us to come up with creative ways to reward and recognise our volunteers

Our central Volunteering Team has big plans. We are aiming to grow our number of volunteers massively and expand the variety of volunteering opportunities across the charity so it is an exciting time to join us. To do this we need your help. If you are great at communicating with strong organisational skills then this could be the opportunity for you!

Volunteering with us is very flexible, you can either commit to set hours each week or join us on a more flexible basis. Any time you can give helps us to fund our lifesaving missions. Our Rugby Head Office is located at Blue Skies House, Butlers Leap, Rugby, CV21 3RQ.

We are able to reimburse reasonable travel expenses and our offices are open between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

Volunteer Fundraising Researcher

Do you have great research and communication skills? We have a fantastic new volunteer role supporting our fundraising team to maximise our fundraising opportunities.

This role is very flexible, it can be carried out in our offices or from home to fit around your commitments. We can tailor the opportunity to your own interests but some of the things you could do are:

  • Mapping out our key areas to identify businesses and groups for our fundraisers to approach
  • Identifying potential new supporters
  • Setting up meetings or talks for fundraisers to meet new community groups
  • Research Charity of the Year partnerships and keep up to date on when they will renew.
  • Using your local knowledge to find new opportunities for our fundraising team to explore
  • Building a list of potential supporting groups and organisations split by area and on local and national levels

Ideally you will have strong organisational skills and be able to use a computer to carry out research. We will provide you with all of the information you will need about the charity to be able to make approaches.

Volunteer Videographer

We are looking for a talented media/production student to help us with an exciting project.  Linked to the Children’s Air Ambulance is a club called #TheCrew. This club encourages children and young people to support the vital work of our service. We are looking to create an exclusive YouTube channel for our members which will include videos of the helicopter/base/pilots and much more.

We are looking for someone to record/produce/edit a series of videos suitable for a young audience.  The content of these videos will vary and we are very much open to the chosen candidate feeding in to these ideas.

The position will be mostly field based at our bases in either Doncaster or Oxford.

The right volunteer must have a friendly and flexible approach and be able to be considerate to the work the charity undertakes.

This is a fantastic opportunity to build your own portfolio whilst also supporting a great cause.

This would be a great volunteering opportunity for students on a media/production course with the ability to pull together high quality videos. You would need to have some experience of producing content for YouTube and the ability to edit/produce content ready for publishing.

This volunteer role could be based either from our Rugby head office (Blue Skies House, Butlers Leap, CV21 3RQ) or from home with travel to our bases for filming.
