Community Fundraising Team Information

We are looking for volunteers to join our Community Fundraising Team to support in all areas including bucket collections, Supporting Events, Fundraising, Schools and General public speaking, tin co-ordinator/collector and being our Mascot.

Our Region Covers: Yorkshire, North East, and Scotland. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a great team, meet new people and gain new skills. 
Volunteering is very flexible, you can either commit to set hours each week/month or join us on a more flexible basis. Any time you can give helps us to fund our lifesaving missions. 

In return we will give you all the training you need to be successful in the role, support from management, and the opportunity to gain experience working for a national charity.

Fundraising Group - Barnsley

The Children’s Air Ambulance are looking to create a fundraising group and are seeking volunteers to join.

       

Our fundraising groups form a vital network of volunteers across the country, being part of a group is a way to meet new people, make great friends and get involved in your local community, all whilst helping to keep our helicopters flying.

 We also rely on our fundraising groups to help organise fundraising events and activities within their local community, our groups act as ambassadors, helping to spread the word about the work of the Children’s Air Ambulance and encouraging and supporting local people, clubs and organisations to fundraise for us too.

Groups normally meet once a month and support in whatever way best suits their interests and skills to organise and support fundraising activities in their local community.

They do this by:

  • Planning and organising fundraising events to take place across the year
  • Meeting regularly as a group to reflect on events held and discuss future activities

Fundraising Group - Bradford

Volunteer Bucket Collector

We are looking for Bucket Collection Volunteers to support our work by raising awareness and increasing income through holding bucket collections in your local community

                             

Bucket collections usually take place in supermarkets, train stations and local events, where you will be required to wear a branded t-shirt, whilst holding a collection bucket.

What we need from you

Enthusiastic and motivated with a knowledge of your local community and a passion for the work of The Children’s Air Ambulance, helping to generate new ideas whilst building and maintaining relationships with local supporters.

This role is on an on-going basis, but you will be required to help at collections no more than monthly at the most, but every 2-3 months being more realistic. During a collection you will need a spare 3-4 hours

Volunteer Speaker

    Are you confident in public speaking and looking for a new challenge?

    We need your help to raise awareness and spread the word about the work of The Children’s Air             Ambulance whist representing the charity in your local area.

 

In this role you could be involved in:

  • Promoting the work of The Children’s Air Ambulance by giving talks and presentations to a range of audiences including local community groups and schools
  • Approaching companies, groups and supporters in your local area to make connections to set up speaking engagements
  • Attending local events and cheque presentations on behalf of the charity to officially thank our supporters

Previous experience of presenting would be great but as long as you are confident speaking in front of a group then don’t worry, you’ll be provided with all the training and tools you need.

This role is very flexible, any time you can give helps us to fund our lifesaving missions. Ideally able to commit to a minimum of 4 talks per year.

 

 

Volunteer Mascot (Not Scotland)

 At the Children’s Air Ambulance, we run a special fundraising club for Children and young people called #thecrew

   Do you want a flexible volunteering role? Then this could be just for you!

                                

 Blade is our mascot and was designed by one of our #TheCrew members.

Blade’s diary is filling up fast so we are now looking for a number of volunteers who would be able to wear the costume at events when promoting the Children’s Air Ambulance across the country!

 You don’t need any previous experience but just to be enthusiastic and enjoy attending events. The costume is quite heavy so you would need to be reasonably strong and able to stand for a length of time. The costume will fit up to an adult size 14/16. When attending events, you would never be alone, we would ensure you are accompanied by other staff or volunteers, and you would have regular breaks from the costume

 

 

Collection Tin Volunteer

As a Collection Tin Volunteer, you will help to raise awareness and increase income, through managing and placing our collection tins in the local community to support generating essential income to help keep our helicopters flying.

                             

What we need from you

A friendly, engaging attitude and excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with local supporters.  Basic numeracy and literacy skills as well as a knowledge of your local area would be advantageous.

We ask that you can commit to a minimum 4 hours per month.

Volunteer Event Supporter

   Are looking for a flexible volunteering role, are you able to commit to volunteering for at least 10 hours per year, do you want to meet new people and make a difference?

                                        

We are expanding rapidly, and we need your help to raise awareness and increase income for The Air Ambulance Service and the Children’s Air Ambulance by supporting our large events and events local to you while representing the Charity.

As an event support volunteer some of the things you would be involved in are:

  • Setting up and clearing down the event
  • Welcoming and talking to members of the public
  • Assisting with the smooth running of our events
  • Cheering on our supporters
  • Helping with promotion of events

Our events vary massively from local fetes and quiz nights to marathons and outdoor cinemas. Hopefully there will be something to interest everyone!

We will communicate all planned events to you regularly so that you can plan ahead and let us know which events you are able to support.

This role is very flexible, you can sign up to support our events on an ad hoc basis when it is most convenient for you. As the charity will invest time in processing your application and providing you with training to carry out your role, we ask that you commit to a minimum of two events per year.

Volunteer Fundraiser

  Do you enjoy being part of your local community, are you looking for a flexible volunteering opportunity, do you want to meet new people and make a difference?

                                       

We have big plans to grow our charity and we need your help to raise awareness and increase income for The Air Ambulance Service and the Children’s Air Ambulance by supporting the fundraising team in your local community.

As a volunteer fundraiser you could help us by supporting the fundraising team and participating in local events representing the Charity.

In this role you could be involved in:

  • Organising events to raise money and awareness in your area
  • Running fundraising stalls at local events to represent the charity
  • Participating in collections
  • Collecting and delivering collateral and merchandise to supporters

This role is very flexible, any time you can give helps us to fund our lifesaving missions. As the charity will invest time in processing your application and providing you with training to carry out your role, we ask that you commit to a minimum of 6 hours per month.

Store Information

We are looking for volunteers to join the team in our Doncaster Superstore  to support in all areas including: generating stock, merchandising, processing donations, raising awareness locally, assisting on the shop floor or supporting behind the scenes with social media and online sales. 


The store is located at: Unit 1a, Thorne Road Retail Park, Ogden Road, Doncaster, DN2 5DX.
The opening hours are: Monday- Saturday 9am-6pm  Sunday 10am-4pm


This is a great opportunity to become part of a great team, meet new people and gain retail skills. 
Volunteering in our shops is very flexible, you can either commit to set hours each week or join us on a more flexible basis. Any time you can give helps us to fund our lifesaving missions. 


In return we will give you all the training you need to be successful in the role, support from store management, a staff discount of 25% and the opportunity to gain experience working for a national charity.

Doncaster Superstore Landing Pad

Store Information

We are looking for volunteers to join the team in our Doncaster Café to support in all areas including serving customers, learning how to make drinks using our coffee machine, Cleaning, and clearing tables, Food Preparation and helping with admin duties.

The Landing Pad Café is Located within our Superstore at: Unit 1a, Thorne Road Retail Park, Ogden Road, Doncaster. DN2 5DX

Café opening times are Monday- Saturday 9.30pm-4.30pm Sunday 10am-3pm

This is a great opportunity to become part of a great team, meet new people and gain catering skills. 
Volunteering in our café is very flexible, you can either commit to set hours each week or join us on a more flexible basis. Any time you can give helps us to fund our lifesaving missions. 

In return we will give you all the food hygiene and safety training you need to be successful in the role once completed you will receive a food safety certificate, support from store management and the opportunity to gain experience working for a national charity. Whilst on shift you can receive 15% off food and drink and 25% off donated goods in the superstore.

Store Information

Do you have creative flair, an interest in retail and an eye for detail?

As a Fashion merchandiser some of the things you could get involved in are:

  • Creating inspiring window displays to encourage more customers
  • Working within our brand guidelines but also with your own creativity to make our shop floor look as attractive as possible

Do you have a keen eye for finding unique things?

We are looking for volunteers to assess our donated stock to maximise the value of our donations to sell in our eBay Shop.

You may already have a good knowledge of antiques & collectables or be able to research our donations.

Volunteer Furniture Refurbisher

Are you able to see the potential in donated items? Do you have a creative eye for upcycling furniture or the practical skills to fix things?

 

You could help us in many different ways including:

  • Fixing donated items of furniture so that they are ready to sell
  • Painting donated items to refresh them and increase the income we can generate from them
  • Restoring wooden furniture for example by sanding, varnishing or painting so it can be sold in our shop

Youth Development Team

Youth Development team Information

We are looking for volunteers to join us in our Youth Development team to support in all areas including: supporting at events, being our crew mascot, Schools speaker and office volunteer. 

We will give you a full induction to all aspects of your role and you will have ongoing support from the team.  You will also have the opportunity to develop new skills to build your CV and gain invaluable experience working for a leading charity.

  Looking for a new volunteering experience? Join us as a school speaker!

We are looking for volunteers who would like to get involved in attending schools and/or groups to deliver engaging talks to raise awareness of our charity and inspire schools to support us. 

                     Top 10 Motivational Speakers For School Events  

In this role you may get involved in:

  • Visiting schools to talk to children about the work of The Air Ambulance Service
  • Talk about ways schools can fundraise to support our vital work
  • Build connections locally with schools and groups to arrange further talks and expand our reach.

This role is flexible however most talks will take place during school hours.  Talks usually take around 20 minutes and full training will be given, and equipment provided.  We are ideally looking for volunteers who are able to commit to regular engagement with us by delivering x4 assemblies per month but any commitment would be welcome. 

Having your own means of transport is essential.

Previous experience of presenting would be great but as long as you are confident speaking in front of a group then don’t worry, you’ll be provided with all the training and tools you need. You will also be paired up with a buddy whilst you learn the ropes and become confident to deliver the talks yourself.

Reasonable travel expenses will be covered.
