Community Fundraising Team Information
We are looking for volunteers to join our Community Fundraising Team to support in all areas including bucket collections, Supporting Events, Fundraising, Schools and General public speaking, tin co-ordinator/collector and being our Mascot.
Our Region Covers: Warwickshire, Birmingham, Worcester, Herefordshire and Shropshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a great team, meet new people and gain new skills.
Volunteering is very flexible, you can either commit to set hours each week/month or join us on a more flexible basis. Any time you can give helps us to fund our lifesaving missions.

Volunteer Opportunities
Fundraising Group
The Air Ambulance Service are looking to create a fundraising group and are seeking volunteers to join.
Our fundraising groups form a vital network of volunteers across the country, being part of a group is a way to meet new people, make great friends and get involved in your local community, all whilst helping to keep our helicopters flying.
We also rely on our fundraising groups to help organise fundraising events and activities within their local community, our groups act as ambassadors, helping to spread the word about the work of the Children’s Air Ambulance and encouraging and supporting local people, clubs and organisations to fundraise for us too.
Groups normally meet once a month and support in whatever way best suits their interests and skills to organise and support fundraising activities in their local community.
They do this by:
- Planning and organising fundraising events to take place across the year
- Meeting regularly as a group to reflect on events held and discuss future activities
- Developing relationships and representing the Children’s Air Ambulance in their local communities, including attending events
- Supporting the charities campaigns such as Wills Week, Superhero Month and Bring a £ day.
- Working alongside and support of a Fundraising Manager to identify opportunities
Volunteer Event Set up & Down Supporter
Do you enjoy being part of your local community, are you looking for a flexible volunteering opportunity, do you want to meet new people and make a difference?
We need your help to set up & put down gazebo's for The Air Ambulance Service for local events in your area.
You need to be physically fit & able to drive.
In this role you may be involved in:
- Setting up our gazebo's at start of events
- Taking down our gazebo's at the end of events
- Carrying stock
- Assisting where required
This role is very flexible, any time you can give helps us to fund our lifesaving missions.
Collection Tin Volunteer
As a Collection Tin Volunteer, you will help to raise awareness and increase income, through managing and placing our collection tins in the local community to support generating essential income to help keep our helicopters flying.
What we need from you
A friendly, engaging attitude and excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with local supporters. Basic numeracy and literacy skills as well as a knowledge of your local area would be advantageous.
We ask that you can commit to a minimum 4 hours per month.

Volunteer Fundraising Researcher
Do you have great research and communication skills?
We have a fantastic new volunteer role supporting our fundraising team to maximise our fundraising opportunities.
This role is very flexible, it can be carried out from home to fit around your commitments. We can tailor the opportunity to your own interests but some of the things you could be involved in are:
- Mapping out our key areas to identify businesses and groups for our fundraisers to approach
- Identifying potential new supporters
- Setting up meetings or talks for fundraisers to meet new community groups
- Research Charity of the Year partnerships and keep up to date on when they will renew.
- Using your local knowledge to find new opportunities for our fundraising team to explore
- Building a list of potential supporting groups and organisations split by area and on local and national levels
Ideally you will have strong organisational skills and be able to use a computer to carry out research. We will provide you with all of the information you will need about the charity to be able to make approaches.
Volunteering with us is very flexible, you can either commit to set hours each week or join us on a more flexible basis. Any time you can give helps us to fund our lifesaving missions.
Volunteer Bucket Collector
Do you enjoy being part of your local community, are you looking for a flexible volunteering opportunity, do you want to meet new people and make difference?
We need your help to raise awareness and increase income for The Air Ambulance Service by taking part in our planned bucket collections and shakes and also help us to book in more regular collections local to you.
In this role you could be involved in:
- Supporting the fundraising team by joining us at our planned bucket collections at large events such as firework nights
- Approaching local business such as supermarkets to arrange and coordinate bucket collections
- Counting the money raised at out bucket collections
This role is very flexible, any time you can give helps us to fund our lifesaving missions. As the charity will invest time in processing your application and providing you with training to carry out your role, we ask that you commit to a minimum of two collections per year.
Volunteer Event Supporter
Are looking for a flexible volunteering role, are you able to commit to volunteering for at least 10 hours per year, do you want to meet new people and make a difference?
We are expanding rapidly, and we need your help to raise awareness and increase income for The Air Ambulance Service and the Children’s Air Ambulance by supporting our large events and events local to you while representing the Charity.
As an event support volunteer some of the things you would be involved in are:
- Setting up and clearing down the event
- Welcoming and talking to members of the public
- Assisting with the smooth running of our events
- Cheering on our supporters
- Helping with promotion of events
Our events vary massively from local fetes and quiz nights to marathons and outdoor cinemas. Hopefully there will be something to interest everyone!
We will communicate all planned events to you regularly so that you can plan ahead and let us know which events you are able to support.
This role is very flexible, you can sign up to support our events on an ad hoc basis when it is most convenient for you. As the charity will invest time in processing your application and providing you with training to carry out your role, we ask that you commit to a minimum of two events per year.
Volunteer Fundraiser
Do you enjoy being part of your local community, are you looking for a flexible volunteering opportunity, do you want to meet new people and make a difference?
We have big plans to grow our charity and we need your help to raise awareness and increase income for The Air Ambulance Service and the Children’s Air Ambulance by supporting the fundraising team in your local community.
As a volunteer fundraiser you could help us by supporting the fundraising team and participating in local events representing the Charity.
In this role you could be involved in:
- Organising events to raise money and awareness in your area
- Running fundraising stalls at local events to represent the charity
- Participating in collections
- Collecting and delivering collateral and merchandise to supporters
This role is very flexible, any time you can give helps us to fund our lifesaving missions. As the charity will invest time in processing your application and providing you with training to carry out your role, we ask that you commit to a minimum of 6 hours per month.
Volunteer Mascot
At the Children’s Air Ambulance, we run a special fundraising club for Children and young people called #thecrew
Do you want a flexible volunteering role? Then this could be just for you!
Blade is our mascot and was designed by one of our #TheCrew members.
Blade’s diary is filling up fast so we are now looking for a number of volunteers who would be able to wear the costume at events when promoting the Children’s Air Ambulance across the country!
You don’t need any previous experience but just to be enthusiastic and enjoy attending events. The costume is quite heavy so you would need to be reasonably strong and able to stand for a length of time. The costume will fit up to an adult size 14/16. When attending events, you would never be alone, we would ensure you are accompanied by other staff or volunteers, and you would have regular breaks from the costume
Volunteer Speaker
Are you confident in public speaking and looking for a new challenge?
We need your help to raise awareness and spread the word about the work of your local Air Ambulance Service whist representing the charity in your local area.
In this role you could be involved in:
- Promoting the work of The Air Ambulance Service by giving talks and presentations to a range of audiences including local community groups and schools
- Approaching companies, groups and supporters in your local area to make connections to set up speaking engagements
- Attending local events and cheque presentations on behalf of the charity to officially thank our supporters.
Previous experience of presenting would be great but as long as you are confident speaking in front of a group then don’t worry, you’ll be provided with all the training and tools you need.
This role is very flexible, any time you can give helps us to fund our lifesaving missions. As the charity will invest time in processing your application and providing you with training to carry out your role, we ask that you commit to a minimum of 4 talks per year.
Rugby Head Office
Overview
We are looking for volunteers to join the team at our Head Office site. This is where the central services for the charity are based including, Marketing, Fundraising, Finance, HR, Volunteering and Supporter care.

The opening hours are: Monday- Saturday 9am-5pm.

Volunteer Patient Communications Admin
Are you passionate about helping others and making a difference?
We are looking for a compassionate Volunteer Patient Communications Admin to join our PR and Communications team as a volunteer.
This role plays a vital part in nurturing positive relationships, enhancing patient communication with those who share their stories with us, and supporting our communications efforts where needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison between patients who have shared their stories and the PR/Communications team
- Keep patient stories database up to date
- Make sure all consent forms and stories are completed, filed correctly and efficiently
- Support in coordinating patient stories and charity stories for PR
- Assist with patient story queries, ensuring a timely and empathetic response

We are opening our brand-new home store in Stratford upon Avon in November 2022. You could be the ideal person to help us raise brand awareness and make the best use of our shop social media accounts
As a Social Media Assistant you could help us by:
- Keeping our shop Facebook pages active and interesting by coming up with new content
- Sharing stories and photos on social media within our brand guidelines
- Coming up with ideas to help us grow our social media presence on different platforms to raise awareness of the charity and the fantastic work we do
- Working with our Online Trading team to sell key items through Facebook Marketplace and taking photos of these items for sale
- Researching items to assess our donated stock to maximise the value of our donations to sell in our eBay Shop.

Volunteer Project Opportunities
Overview
We have Volunteer project opportunities here at The Air Ambulance Service which we are looking for teams of people to help us with.
We are looking for everyone who wants to get involved to feel engaged, have fun and raise awareness and much needed funds to keep our helicopters flying.
Volunteering is great for team building, creating new friendships, helps with organisational and creative skills.
It helps build confidence and helps learn new skills and is a great addition to your CV.
We do require volunteers to complete a DBS and provide 2 references as part of the onboarding process, you will be contacted regarding this.
Opportunities
Design Challenge
Do you have a flare for fashion? Have you got experience or do you want to try your hand at upcycling?
Then this Challenge could just be for you!
We are looking for teams of volunteers to compete to organise a clothing bank in their location whether it is a University or club for people to donate their unwanted clothing.
Within this challenge you would :
- Use the garments to create other items such as bags and clothing upcycling
- Hold a fashion show to showcase your items
- Sell / Auction the items after the show.
- Donated the remaining items to your local Air Ambulance shop.
All teams will receive an achievement award certificate and the team who raises the most money will also receive a goodie bag.
A dedicated Air Ambulance staff member will support you with anything you need.
Volunteering is a great addition to your CV.
Pub Club Challenge
Do you and your friends enjoy socialising and meeting new people?
You could do this and also raise vital funds for us!
With Our Pub Club Challenge you would be involved in:
- In teams of 2, visit local pubs to encourage landlords to join our Pub Club.
- Involve your local community to fundraise for The Air Ambulance service.
- Suggest events and activities that would be good for fundraising ideas
- The winning team will be the one that signs up the most Pubs!
All teams will receive an achievement award certificate and the winning team will receive goodie bags.
You will be supported by a dedicated Air Ambulance staff member who will provide training and ongoing support and any collateral and materials you may need.

Fundraising Month Challenge
Are you and your friends good at organising? Do you enjoy meeting people and have great ideas for fundraising?
Then this challenge is for you the skies the limit so be creative!
We are looking for teams of friends to compete over a month period to organise fundraising activities to see who can fundraise the most to raise vital funds to keep our helicopters flying.
You could organise:
- Bake sales
- Sponsored events- walks/silences?
- pub quiz
- Silent Disco

We are looking for volunteers to join us in our Youth Development team to support in all areas including: supporting at events, being our crew mascot, Schools speaker and office volunteer.

Volunteer Schools Speaker
Looking for a new volunteering experience? Join us as a school speaker!
We are looking for volunteers who would like to get involved in attending schools and/or groups to deliver engaging talks to raise awareness of our charity and inspire schools to support us.
In this role you may get involved in:
- Visiting schools to talk to children about the work of The Air Ambulance Service
- Talk about ways schools can fundraise to support our vital work
- Build connections locally with schools and groups to arrange further talks and expand our reach.

This role is flexible however most talks will take place during school hours. Talks usually take around 20 minutes and full training will be given, and equipment provided. We are ideally looking for volunteers who are able to commit to regular engagement with us by delivering x4 assemblies per month but any commitment would be welcome.
Having your own means of transport is essential.
Previous experience of presenting would be great but as long as you are confident speaking in front of a group then don’t worry, you’ll be provided with all the training and tools you need. You will also be paired up with a buddy whilst you learn the ropes and become confident to deliver the talks yourself.
Reasonable travel expenses will be covered.
