The Community Development team works with the community and stakeholders to build a connected and diverse community and to enhance quality of life in the City of Wanneroo. We support a range of community priorities, encouraging the growth of self-sufficient community organisations and coordinating strategic planning that supports the needs and aspirations of the City’s diverse communities. Together with our stakeholders, we coordinate and deliver the City of Wanneroo’s Reconciliation Action Plan, Age Friendly Plan, Access and Inclusion Plan, and Regional Homelessness Plan.
The team also oversees the facilitation of a range of services and activities including Community Transport, Volunteering, Community Self Sufficiency Workshops, Community Gardens and the Food Trucks Program and provides support for community-led initiatives. Our volunteer drivers are invaluable in helping us deliver our Community Transport Service. We also welcome expressions of interest in volunteering for specific projects or events.

Cultural Services explores and celebrates creativity, imagination and the City of Wanneroo’s cultural heritage and history through our fantastic venues - Wanneroo Regional Museum & Community History Centre, Wanneroo Gallery and two beautifully preserved heritage houses, Cockman House and Buckingham House.
Together with volunteers, we research, preserve and develop the City of Wanneroo’s cultural heritage and history, sharing the stories of the district through our Collections and connecting contemporary life to that of past generations. Using art and history we seek to bring people together across differences, building a strong, vibrant and shared identity.
Join our community of passionate volunteers who assist the Cultural Services Team with providing activities, programs and experiences through active engagement with visitors throughout the museum, gallery and heritage houses and who meaningfully contribute to the preservation and celebration of our past.
