The City of Mississauga has the current vacancies for Committees available for citizen appointments. Please see below.
Applicant Qualifications
Those applying must:
- Be a Canadian Citizen
- Be a Mississauga Resident or Business Owner;
- Be a minimum of 18 years of age;
- NOT be employed by the City of Mississauga or Region of Peel; and
- NOT have a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted.

Application and Deadline
Applications will be accepted beginning Monday, February 3, 2025 until Monday, February 17, 2025. We thank all who apply, however only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. All personal information is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act.

Committees with Current Vacancies
Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC)
The Mississauga Accessibility Advisory Committee is seeking one (1) citizen member to join the Committee for a term ending November 2026 or until a successor is appointed.
The Mississauga Accessibility Advisory Committee provides recommendations, advice and information to City Council and City staff to assist the City in promoting and facilitating a barrier-free Mississauga for citizens of all abilities, including persons with disabilities. The advisory committee fulfills its mandate through:
- The review of municipal policies, programs, projects and services;
- The identification, removal and prevention of barriers faced by persons with disabilities; and
- Advise Council about the requirements and implementation of accessibility standards and preparation of accessibility reports as per the AODA, s. 29(4)(a).
There are additional Subcommittees to the Accessibility Advisory Committee that meet regarding topics ranging from facility design, transportation and promotional awareness.
Combating Racism, Discrimination and Hatred Advisory Committee (CRDHAC)
The Combating Racism, Discrimination and Hatred Advisory Committee (CRDHAC) is seeking one (1) citizen member to join the Committee for a term ending November 2026 or until a successor is appointed.
The Combating Racism, Discrimination and Hatred Advisory Committee provides recommendations, advice and information to City Council and City Staff to remove systemic barriers for equitable access to City services and programs, provide insight and build public awareness to combat racism and hatred.
This advisory committee provides recommendations, advice, and information to City Council and City Staff as follows:
- Provide insights to Council and staff on the needs of diverse, equity deserving communities in Mississauga impacted by racism and hate
- Guide staff in supporting those communities in fighting racism and hate through policies, programs, services
- Guide staff on piloting innovative and effective anti-racism and anti-hate tools and resources
- Demonstrate for the Corporation effective strategies to remove systemic barriers to equitable access to City services and programs for marginalized residents & equity deserving groups
- Build public awareness of City’s policies, programs and services to combat racism and hate
- Identify potential policy and program reforms that the City could probe into and explore ways of strengthening
