Citizen Appointments to Committees

CITIZEN APPOINTMENTS TO CITY OF MISSISSAUGA COMMITTEES, LOCAL BOARDS AND AUTHORITIES

 

The City of Mississauga is currently seeking citizens to sit on the following committees for a term of office until November 14, 2026:

  • Accessibility Advisory Committee
  • Heritage Advisory Committee and it’s subcommittees
  • Committee of Adjustment
  • GTAA Consultative Committee
  • Mississauga Arts Council
  • Mississauga Public Library Board
  • Property Standards Committee
  • Mississauga Appeal Tribunal

Applications will be accepted at a later date in January/February 2023 for the remaining Advisory Committees of Council.

Applicant Qualifications

Those applying must be a:

  • Canadian Citizen (Permanent Residents are accepted for those interested in applying for the Mississauga Public Library Board ONLY);
  • Mississauga Resident or Business Owner;
  • Minimum 18 years of age;
  • NOT employed by the City of Mississauga or Region of Peel; and
  • MUST be fully vaccinated (two doses) or have a medical/creed exemption.
  • Additional qualifications may be required for some Committees.

Application and Deadline

Applications will be accepted beginning Thursday, November 24, 2022 until Thursday, December 15, 2022.  Applications received after the deadline will be accepted, however will be considered late. We thank all who apply, however only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. All personal information is collected under the authority of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

COVID-19 Update: In accordance with the Volunteer Management Program Standards, all volunteers (including previously appointed individuals) must provide proof of Full Vaccination against COVID-19 or confirmation of a creed or medical exemption before their first meeting.
