Sharing the stories of the Museum through our handling collections. Providing a warm welcome while sharing science and engineering to our visitors in the

Fun n Flight interactive area. Being part of the museum team at especially busy times.

  • Any day of the week
  • Weekends preferred
  • 10am-4pm, 1 hour lunch

 

 

Frequency

  • At least once a month

Further Information

  • Attendance at a selection/training day is required on Tuesday 12 November 2019.
  • Training will cover: learning about the handling collection, safe volunteering and the visitor experience at the RAF Museum
  • A trial period of 2 months or 5 shifts
  • Two references need to be received before the end of the trial period

Join a team who are passionate about enabling our visitors to get up close and personal to our unique collection of aircraft.

 

The cockpit sections of the McDonnell Douglas Phantom FGR2 and Hawker Hunter F4 provide visitors with the wonderful opportunity to sit in two iconic jets of the Cold War era. This experience is brought to life by the volunteers who facilitate this. Providing a warm welcome while sharing stories of the RAF to our visitors in the National Cold War Exhibition. Being part of the museum team at especially busy times.

Enabling our visitors to get up close and personal to our unique collection of aircraft.   • School holidays initially

Further Information

  • Attendance at a selection/training day is required on Tuesday 12 November 2019, 10am-12 noon.
  • Training will cover: learning the information required to share about the aircraft, safe volunteering and the visitor experience at the RAF Museum
  • A trial period of 2 shifts shadowing staff
  • Two references need to be received before the end of the trial period
  • Standing for long periods and climbing steps is part of the role.

Sharing the stories of the Museum through our handling collections. Providing a warm welcome while sharing the message that we need to raise financial support for the museum. Starting with the Cold War collection in the National Cold War Exhibition. Being part of the museum team at especially busy times.
