PLACEMENT TYPE
Work Experience
Work Experience is a 5-day short-term placement of secondary school students in year 10. The City hopes to provide the student with insights into our industry, local government, and the workplace. While undertaking work experience, students will observe different aspects of work and may assist with tasks allocated by their supervisor, but will not be expected to undertake activities which require extensive training or expertise.
Bendigo Airport
Please note, that all Work Experience places at the Bendigo Airport for 2024 have now been filled.
Bendigo Airport is the largest capacity airport in north-central Victoria, approximately 130km from Melbourne Airport - with a catchment that extends up into New South Wales and encompasses other regional centres inclusive of Shepparton, Echuca and Swan Hill. It provides connectivity, employment and emergency services to our community.
During work experience, you would be required to wear fully enclosed shoes, long sleeve top, long pants and broad brimmed hat. As the temperature at the airport can vary greatly it is a great idea to remember to bring a jacket and even a beanie. Hearing protection will be provided. Ensure to bring plenty of food and drink with you, as at times facilities can be limited.
As part of the Work Experience program, you will be paid a small amount for each day of your work experience. You will need to bring a copy of your Bank Account details so that payment for this can be made.
