Bendigo Art Gallery
|
The Bendigo Art Gallery has now closed for renovations. The Gallery is undergoing a revolutionary transformation that will establish it as an international, world-class cultural facility for future generations. The project will deliver ‘The People’s Gallery’ – an empowering place for the Bendigo and broader Victorian community focused on accessibility, education, shared economic benefit and celebrating our Traditional Owners. Construction is expected to start early 2026 and take approximately two years to complete, with the aim of re-opening in early 2028. Local construction company Fairbrother Construction will lead the redevelopment.

Intercultural Ambassador Program
Intercultural Ambassador Program
Every two years the City recruits 10 Intercultural Ambassador volunteers who represent a diverse range of multicultural and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds in our community. The Ambassadors will participate in community events and projects, City advisory and reference groups and attend civic functions. They will also act as champions for their existing communities and gain valuable leadership and development opportunities. Our Program is based on the successful City of Ballarat Multicultural Ambassadors Program. Funding for the Pilot Program has been provided by the Victorian Government.
