Mission/Vision:

Our goal is to make sure all children and youth in our community have access to music education and experiences, regardless of financial constraints.


Board/ Committee Details: 


    Name of Position: Treasurer
 Position requirements:

  • Inputting information to financial documents (income statement, balance sheet)
  • Balancing finances including fundraiser/donation reconciliation.
  • Reviewing financial documents to compile financial information for board meetings (general income and expenses).
  • Assisting Executive Director in filing financial documents for grant applications and society annual return in July

Our current treasurer will be available to help with the transition for the new treasurer we bring on board.


    Term and Meeting Schedule:

The Thaddeus Music Foundation has quarterly board meetings that our treasure will need to attend. At these meetings they will present financial information from the previous quarter (total income and total expenses).


    Time Commitments:

Board terms are up to 2 years with extensions available upon board approval. The treasurer does up to 2 hours of work per week for the Thaddeus Lake Music Foundation. There will be several weeks in the year where less work needs to be done.


    Qualifications:

  • Some experience (professional or volunteer-based) in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Use of QuickBooks is helpful.
  • Knowledge or experience with tax filing for charities as we will be looking to apply for charity status in the future.
  • We don't require experience or knowledge with music or music education for this position. We are looking for someone who understands the positive benefits that music education and experiences brings to children and youth.

  • Crafters Corner requires someone with a passion to create and to come up with new crafts weekly.  Interested individuals must have a passion for helping others. Must be 18 years of age and willing to complete a volunteer application form and receive a current clear police information check with vulnerable sector. Once these forms are completed you would book an interview with our Recreation & Volunteer Manager to complete orientation.

Leduc Hub Association works works together with other community agencies to help lighten the burden of some of our most vulnerable citizens and connect them with the proper supports. We offer a free coffee bar, a coffee shop where you can sit in community, free showers and laundry, help with financial needs, as well as transportation. In the winter we become an overnight shelter as well.

Services

We provide overnight shelter services and a daytime community connection program including coordinated assessment, supported referral, and follow-up services for clients/guests experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Our Board of Directors seeks to balance its expertise. We currently enjoy a broad range of skills, including leadership skills, strategic thinking, communication, team work, financial literacy, and client service expertise. We are looking to add up to three additional directors; one that brings legal expertise; another highly experienced in capital projects including fundraising; and another with a passion for improving the lives of people in and around Leduc.

 

As the highest leadership body of the organization and to satisfy its fiduciary duties, the board is responsible for:

  • Determining the mission and purposes of the organization;
  • Strategic and organizational planning;
  • Ensuring strong fiduciary oversight and financial management;
  • Fundraising and resource development;
  • Assessing its own performance as the governing body; and
  • Oversees and supports the Executive Director who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Hub services.

 Qualifications:

We request a one-year commitment for this role. Please note that you must be 18 years of age or older to volunteer with the Friendly Visiting Program. If successful, this position will require the completion of a vulnerable sector check and may have additional onboarding requirements depending on the long-term care home you visit (e.g., proof of immunization, TB testing).
