Positions Available(s): Volunteers needed for below positions. Volunteers are able to pick one or more positions they may be interested in. All volunteers must fill out volunteer application, complete a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector check and complete orientation with Recreation and Volunteer Manager. All volunteers must be 18 years of age and older.

 

Position 1:

               Name of Position: Bingo Caller

               Schedule of Position:

  • Mondays 1:30-3:00pm
  • Saturdays 1:30-3:00pm

               Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Feel comfortable working in front of larger groups of people
  • Professional appearance
  • Punctual

 

Position 2:

               Name of Position: Crafters Corner

               Schedule of Position:

  • Mondays 10:00-11:00am
  • Thursdays 10:00-11:00am
  • Tuesdays 6:00-7:00pm
  • Thursdays 6:00-7:00pm

               Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of crafting, creativity and patience
  • Professional appearance
  • Punctual

 

Position 3:

               Name of Position: Drumming for seniors

               Schedule of Position:

  • Sundays 2:30-3:30pm
  • Tuesdays 1:30-2:30pm

               Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of working iPad
  • Professional Appearance
  • Punctual
  • Capable of lifting 5LBS or more

Position Details: 

Morning into afternoon
 
Positions Available:
  • Drivers
    • This position will work with a partner and share driving responsibilities
      Pickup donations within Leduc, Beaumont and Devon. Food bank Vans are used for pick ups
    • 4 positions available 
    • Mon., Wed., Fri. 7:15 am – early afternoon
    • Qualifications:
      • Minimum age 18 yrs. 
      • Criminal records check 
      • Drivers abstract 
      • Ability to lift up to 30- 50lbs 
  • Warehouse Volunteers 
    • This position consists of sorting food donations, assisting with our recycling program, and helping with other tasks as needed.
    • 4 positions available 
    • Weekday- Mornings
    • Qualifications: 
      • Minimum age 18 yrs. 
      • Drivers abstract 
      • Criminal records check (letter supplied for crime check) 
      • Ability to lift is helpful but not mandatory

Shelter Movers (Edmonton and Region)

Position 1:

  • Assist lead movers with moving client belongings from location to location

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift over 15lbs and stand for periods of time
  • Ability to work with others 
  • Maintain clear communications 
  • Handle client belongings with care
  •  awareness of boundaries
  • Must have own transportation
  • OH&S training will be provided/ Must wear closed toes footwear

Schedule:

  • Shifts - Flexible and vary based on needs of move & volunteers
  • Approx. 4 - 6 hrs. per move

Position 2:

  • Assist lead movers with moving client belongings from location to location using your own vehicle

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift over 15lbs and stand for periods of time
  • Ability to work with others 
  • Maintain clear communications 
  • Handle client belongings with care
  •  awareness of boundaries
  • Must have own transportation/ provide drivers abstract
  • Van/ Truck is preferred 
  • OH&S training will be provided/ Must wear closed toes footwear

Qualifications

Attributes & Experience required

Warehouse volunteer: must be able to lift 30lbs, intermediate level of English, over the age of 16, work with minimal supervision, ability to stand for long periods
Donations Sorter: must be able to lift 15lbs, intermediate level of English, over the age of 16, work with minimal supervision, ability to stand for long periods
Work experience:  Must be referred by a community agency or educational institution – Catholic Social Services etc.

Community Service Program: We do not accept individuals who are charged with assault, theft, fraud, or weapons charges.
Youth Volunteer: over the age of 16, self-motivated and can work independently
