Safe Refuge Youth Homes of Canada Inc. - Board Opportunities
Vision/ Mission Statement:
Giving teens a place of refuge during a time of temporary or permanent unrest at home.
Available Position(s):
Position 1: Board Member
- Requirements of Position(s):
- To have the ability to help write up policies needed for the youth home and help wherever needed.
- Term & Meeting Schedule:

- Qualification:
- First of all, have a huge heart for the teenagers of Leduc, a desire to help teens in trouble, to have an understanding of policies and be able to help us to create our policies to help us get started. Some experience preferred.
Position 2: Board Member
- Requirement of Position:
- To be the go to person for volunteers in any position, to be organized and efficient in keeping track of what has been done and what needs to be done.

- First of all, have a huge heart for the teenagers of Leduc, a desire to help teens in trouble. Need to be highly organized, to keep track of volunteers and what has been done. Experience preferred.

- To have knowledge of government grants and apply to appropriate grants for us.

- First of all, have a huge heart for the teenagers of Leduc, a desire to help teens in trouble. Need to be highly organized, to keep track of grants applied for and keep a look out for new grants to apply for. Experience preferred.

Leduc Hub Association
Leduc Hub Association works works together with other community agencies to help lighten the burden of some of our most vulnerable citizens and connect them with the proper supports. We offer a free coffee bar, a coffee shop where you can sit in community, free showers and laundry, help with financial needs, as well as transportation. In the winter we become an overnight shelter as well.

Leduc Hub Association - Board Opportunities
Leduc Hub Association has an exciting opportunity for up to three individuals interested in joining our Board of Directors.
Services
We provide overnight shelter services and a daytime community connection program including coordinated assessment, supported referral, and follow-up services for clients/guests experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
Mission Statement
The Leduc Hub Association offers a safe and supportive community where individuals experiencing homelessness or poverty can access critical services with dignity.

That all members of our community have the resources to maintain a safe and stable home so that they can live healthy and meaningful lives.
Strategic Plan
Our strategic plan aims to expand services, partnerships, and to embark on a capital project for a state of the art facility.
Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors seeks to balance its expertise. We currently enjoy a broad range of skills, including leadership skills, strategic thinking, communication, team work, financial literacy, and client service expertise. We are looking to add up to three additional directors; one that brings legal expertise; another highly experienced in capital projects including fundraising; and another with a passion for improving the lives of people in and around Leduc.
As the highest leadership body of the organization and to satisfy its fiduciary duties, the board is responsible for:
- Determining the mission and purposes of the organization;
- Strategic and organizational planning;
- Ensuring strong fiduciary oversight and financial management;
- Fundraising and resource development;
- Assessing its own performance as the governing body; and
- Oversees and supports the Executive Director who is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Hub services.
Board Members will:
- Know the organization’s mission, policies, programs, and needs;
- Prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in board meetings;
- Serve as active advocates and ambassadors for the organization;
- Ensure compliance with the organization’s bylaws, policies, and board resolutions; and
- Maintain confidentiality about all internal matters.
