Launch Housing - Volunteer Gardener
The Volunteer Gardener will be part of Foyer life. The Foyer is student accommodation and a program for young people 16-24 who have been at the risk of homelessness.
Vegie-gardening can provide a connection with food and resources, be beneficial for mental health and provide a positive way of working together, learning about horticulture, ecosystems and nutrition and taking pride in place, as well as leaving a legacy for future Foyer studentsOver the years many young people have started vege gardens which have been successful but they often fallen into neglect, the beds lying fallow and untended. We are looking for a volunteer garden who can plan, develop and maintain the vegie plots and interact with students at all times where possible. The Volunteer Gardener will be supported by the staff at Foyer , which is staffed 24 hours, in connecting with students . The produce of the garden would be shared with the gardener and the Foyer students and all costs of maintaining the garden would be covered by Foyer.
Hours spent in the garden and the focus of the gardening activities would be mutually agreed between Foyer and the Gardening Volunteer.

Sunbury Community Health
Are you interested in volunteering at Sunbury Community Health?
Our people are our greatest asset and our volunteers are vital to the success of the services we offer.
There are two ways to volunteer with us, either sign on as a regular volunteer at Sunbury Community Health or join our casual Volunteer pool, or both!
Do you want to become a regular volunteer at Sunbury Community Health?
From assisting with children’s programs, helping young adults with a disability, to leading walking groups, our volunteers play an important role.
Please note that we only place ongoing potential volunteers when suitable vacancies arise.
Do you want sign up as part of our casual Volunteer Bank?
We’re hoping to have a ‘bank’ of social volunteers who want to invest some of their spare time back into the Sunbury community (young people too!).
It is less formal process than becoming a volunteer. Volunteering opportunities are varied and won’t necessarily involve a regular or ongoing commitment.
Activities could include helping out at our Communi-tea van at community events. We’ll let you know what’s coming up, when and where, then you can let us know if you want to be a part of it!
We are seeking expression of interest from any member of the community (18 years and over).
