We are looking for volunteers to commit to 12 months or longer to visit an older person living in their home to provide freindship and companionship.

Visits are approximately 1 hour on a day and time that suits your needs. They are conducted once a week in the hope we can help a person who is socially isolated in your community.

If you think you would like to explore this oppurtunity, please contact us, we would love to chat with you more.

MiCare

At MiCare we don't want anybody to be lonely. Our Friendly Visiting and Community Visiting programs assist socially isolated older people who live at home or in an aged care facility. Volunteers who share language, cultural background and interests are required to commit to fortnightly visits for at least 12 months.

Visits may be spent talking or sharing in a simple leisure activity together. Your regular visits can make a real and positive difference in the life of an older person by reducing social isolation and improving well-being.

Volunteers receive training, orientation, ongoing support and travel reimbursement.
