Chess Club Volunteer

Do you like chess? Be a Chess Club volunteer and teach beginners how to play!

Chess Club meets the first and third Fridays of the month.

Requirements: Ages 14-17. Must have at least a basic knowledge of chess and be comfortable instructing others and answering questions.

We will hold casual volunteer interviews on Tuesday, January 14^th and Thursday, January 16^th. Fifteen-minute timeslots are available from 2:30-4 PM. We will contact you in January to schedule if you meet our availability requirements.

You must also be able to commit to one orientation on Tuesday, January 21st, 2-4 PM or Thursday, January 23rd, 3-5 PM.

Tales and Mocktails @ Windmill Library is a monthly after-hours book club at the Windmill Library. This is a great way to learn about library programming, network, and become more involved with the Windmill Library community.

Volunteers will assist with the set up, the distribution of snacks, and the break down of the program. Some of the tasks are:

• Set up tables and food service areas with chairs, linens and decoration.
• Arrange tables and chairs, need to be able to lift and carry objects of moderate weight (11 - 20 pounds).
• Set up and store food before and during event.
• Assist with the distribution of cups and maintain the snack bar.
• Assist guests upon arrival including registration.
• Clean up and tear down the lobby and Meeting Room by removing all tableware, linens, garbage and rearrange furniture.

Qualifications: Minimum 19 years of age. 

Time Commitment: Once a month from 5:00pm - 9:30pm (usually the third Friday of the month).
