ARTHOUSE Meath is a collective of artists living with complex epilepsy and learning disabilities all of whom require varying levels of support. The artists work alongside instructors to create artworks which are developed into designer products for sale. All artwork derives from the skills each artist brings to the enterprise and every contribution holds real value.

Offering a sense of purpose lies at the heart of ARTHOUSE Meath’s philosophy in line with our belief that feeling truly respected improves health and well-being. We strive to challenge perceptions and to create better acceptance and inclusion for all people living with disabilities.

As we grow we hope to offer more opportunities to people in other towns across the UK. 100% of sales revenue sustains the enterprise, enabling it to expand and evolve.

The Artventure Trust enables people with learning difficulties,physical & mental disabilities to explore the visual arts.  We aim to help vunerable people integrate into the community.  Working alongside practising artists & others with a variety of skills & experience, we combine to give a flexible & fun approach to the creative process.

Who is Bike Project Surrey for?

Students not in school come to us for work experience, to learn about bikes and get an industry recognised qualification in Bicycle Care and Maintenance so that they have choices when they leave school.

People in the local community not in work, training or education can come to us to learn about bikes, get work experience and we become a positive part of their routine and life.

Volunteers support students, adults or just work on bikes – because they love bikes too.

Everyone who becomes part of Bike Project Surrey Team contributes to the welcoming and inclusive approach so that people feel good and that they belong at Bike Project Surrey.

Vision

• Everyone in the community has the chance to learn about bikes and how to look after them in an environment that is inclusive, welcoming and happy so that people feel valued and that they belong.
• Affordable bikes for the community to buy and use to travel, be healthy, fit and happy.
• Affordable bike service available to the community so that their bikes stay on the road.
• Bikes and parts recycled so that they do not contribute to landfill or pollute the environment. Riding bikes means you’re not driving.

Mission

We will provide learning opportunities around bikes for everyone – but especially for young people and adults who are not in education, employment or training. We will offer this through our Alternative Provision and adult placements.

This will be successful because Bike Project Surrey workshops are positive, happy and inclusive places to work and be with others. A shared interest and love of bikes means that while people are at Bike Project Surrey they will meet and learn skills and values from others who they might not otherwise have met.

The bikes we work on will be make made for everyone in the community as affordable recycled bikes for getting about on and keeping fit and healthy. This will also contribute an income to support the vision.

Students, adults and volunteers will be offered industry recognised qualifications, work experience and chance to ‘earn a bike’.

So Bike Project Surrey will…

The British Red Cross helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We are part of a global voluntary network, responding to conflicts, natural disasters and individual emergencies.

We enable vulnerable people in the UK and abroad to prepare for and withstand emergencies in their own communities. And when the crisis is over, we help them to recover and move on with their lives.

The Method of achieving the Aim of the Association is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law, and guided by adult leadership.

The goal of The Dan Eley Foundation is to create a supportive environment where disadvantaged young children are given the opportunity to try a range of technical and vocational skills and to provide them with the professional training they need to obtain legitimate employment.

It is our aim to be recognized as a charity that helps young people to help themselves and ultimately achieve true independence.

Dolphin Swim Sessions aim to facilitate friendly, inclusive swimming sessions for anyone who feels that joining the sessions would benefit their physical or mental health. No referral is required, anyone is welcome as are carers. Sessions are used as rehabilitation after surgery, for management of various mental health conditions, for on-going physical maintenance, weight loss, etc.

The English Regional Transport Association(ERTA)is a voluntary membership-based, pro-public transport improvement association with several of its projects having a nation-wide positive benefit and impact. Membership is open to all.

About Girl Guiding - Guildford Division

Guiding is a game - with a purpose. It provides opportunities for girls and young women to:      - Be challenged by new adventures and experiences and achieve a sense of pride in accomplishment. - Develop self-awareness, self-respect and self-confidence.          - Develop a personal faith and values to give life meaning and direction think for themselves, govern themselves and make their own decisions. - Make friends and have fun in the family of Guiding. - Develop a sense of tolerance, justice, kindness and honour learn teamwork and acquire leadership skills, working with and for others. - Appreciate the environment and how to live in it.

Guildford Club for Disabled provides social support for the physically disabled which results in additional needs and requirements.  The Club strives to provide wide ranging entertainment that caters for most age groups and their tastes.

We are a very well established Sea Cadet unit that has been in operation since 1942. We were recognised in 2010 as one of the best units in the southern area. This is not only because of our central location, right in the heart of Guildford, but because of our ethos and commitment to provide top notch activities for young people.

Our superb location, perched on the banks of the River Wey near the National Trust's Dapdune Wharf, is so close to the water that you can touch it. And this fits well with our aim; to give young people the opportunity to get out onto the water, gain confidence and have a lot of laughs at the same time.

We want to keep our cadets active both on an off the water. Long evenings in the Summer months mean loads of time on the water: Kayaking, sailing, rowing and driving power boats. Then when the nights draw cold and you think that all we can do is in a classroom you find we keep active: rock climbing, leadership games and activities and sports games.

We currently have 65 cadets, male and female aged between 10 and 18, of whom 16 are Royal Marine Cadets.

We have a wide range of facilities and instructional staff which means we can offer you the opportunity to learn new skills in a safe environment whilst having loads of fun!

 Advice ,practical help & support for people with hearing aids & hearing difficulties in the Haslemere area.

Woodlands and Hillbrow were set up as a family care homes. We now have a day centre specialising in dementia and a nursing home called Hill House.  The homes are all run along the same core principle of dignity, respect, courage and caring for people as though they are our own family.

Once residents come to live with us we want them to have the best possible quality of life and for it to be the last time they ever have to move. In order to achieve this we need volunteers to help us.

I cannot stress the importance of this time in peoples lives, so we try to make it as good as possible at the end of their life.

The Museum of Farnham is housed in Willmer House, a Grade I listed building with many original features and a delightful walled garden.

Here you can discover the tales of William Cobbett and George Sturt whilst marveling at the inventions of John Henry Knight. Over the years Farnham has been home to many artists and craftsmen and the Museum has a fine collection by local artists including Stephen Elmer, WH Allen, Harold Falkner and Sir John Verney, as well as Farnham Greenware.

Our local studies library is a treasure trove of information on Farnham which cannot be found anywhere else. We have maps, census data, parish records, electoral rolls, street directories, newspapers, a photographic archive and more.

The walled garden is a hidden treasure of Farnham, with a tranquil and serene feel year round. Our Garden Gallery is a popular venue and available for hire for parties, exhibitions, talks and much more.

Haslemere-based Pathways Community Support project exists to coordinate and host services to assist those hardest hit by the coronavirus crisis to get back on their feet. To that end we aim to offer a broad range of support including pathways back into work or training, benefits advice, mental health and well-being opportunities, for all ages.  This means that people in the local area can have the opportunity to be seen in their home town, reducing the need to travel to Guildford Job Centre etc, the costs, potential added health risk, and the carbon footprint that involves. The Job Centre also offers job and training schemes to suit all stages of life and career, including young people, and can also signpost to domestic abuse and mental health services. We work with people with physical and learning disabilities or acquired brain injuries to gain new skills and increase independence.  Whether it’s learning everyday life skills, rebuilding a life affected by brain injury, acquiring the skills to drive a specially adapted car or training for future employment, we support disabled people to achieve goals for life.

The charitable objectives of the RSPCA are to promote kindness and prevent or suppress cruelty to animals by all lawful means.

The branch promotes animal welfare in the local area primarily through veterinary assistance, neutering and re-homing. We run a voucher scheme which assists local people with veterinary bills for treatment and neutering. It also helps to control dog and cat populations, thereby promoting responsible pet ownership.

The branch assists the RSPCA animal centres, mainly Millbrook and South Godstone, with re-homing unwanted and abused animals by home-visiting.  We also pay for veterinary treatment of stray animals and wildlife attended to by the Inspectorate in our branch area.

The RSPCA provides advice for owners on animal care. It also helps animals brought to us for rehoming because their owners are unable or unwilling to keep them. Ill treated or injured animals are cared for by the Society. The public benefits from knowing that we can intervene to assist animals in need.

We have a website to raise awareness of the activities of the branch and to help members get more involved. We provide volunteering opportunities for those who wish to support our work, including trusteeship, fundraising and home visiting. This benefits local people and companies by providing the possibility of doing work which is compassionate and rewarding.

We also have to fundraise to enable us to continue with our charitable work. The RSPCA receives no government or lottery funding.

To provide an outdoor learning centre for use by schools and other groups at which an individuals' awareness of, and concern for, the natural environment is increased.

Sidney Herbert Sime (1865-1941), Sime Gallery at Worplesdon Memorial Hall GU3 3RF.

A talented illustrator, oil painter, landscapes and caricatures of the late 1800s and early 1900s, the Sime Gallery is a unique collection of 800 pieces of his work. He lived from 1904-1941 in Worplesdon and after his widow Mary's death in 1949 his works were bequeathed to the trustees of Worplesdon Memorial Hall. Today, the collection is known as Sime Gallery, a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO). The objective is to preserve the collection and make it available for the public to view.

Surrey Libraries is a dedicated local government library service; providing information, knowledge, resources, support and entertainment to our local community.

We are a church in Farnham providing activities and opportunities for children and young people.

What we do

We provide services and support that focuses on people’s needs to regain their power and strength, lead a well-balanced life, maintain and increase their feeling of well-being. We accept referrals from GPs, CMHRSs and other charities, service providers. And people can self-refer as well.

Why we do it

We all feel less than fine at some time in our lives and often we can feel lonely, stressed, bored or at our wits end. We are not medics, not trying to sell you anything and not on a mission to convert you, we are just genuinely interested in making your world a better place.

Building Healthy Communities Together

Timebanking is a way for people to come together to help others and help themselves at the same times. Participants 'deposit' their time in the Time Bank by giving practical help and support to others and are able to withdraw their time when they need something done themselves.

Timebanking is open to people of all ages, abilities, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

Voluntary Action South West Surrey (VASWS) is an independent charity set up to support, develop and promote voluntary and community involvement across the boroughs of Guildford and Waverley. 

VASWS offers an extensive range of free services to all voluntary groups in our area, so whether you are a very small group just starting out or an established charity we can help.

We also match people who want to volunteer with local organisations seeking volunteers through our Volunteer Centre in Guildford.

The Wintershall Plays bring the story of Jesus Christ to life today.

We aim to reduce landfill by collecting and selling donated goods. We provide support and development for volunteers on "back to work" programmes and we provide low cost goods to help those on low income.

To be a centre of excellence delivering specialist palliative care, from the heart of North West Surrey, to people with life limiting illnesses and support to those important to them. To continually improve by gaining, sharing and applying knowledge. To raise both an awareness of our activities and the funds to deliver them.
