Puttenham Barn
Mission Statement

Puttenham Barn is run by a small environmental charity called Project Oasis North Downs (POND).
Its mission is to provide simple inexpensive overnight accommodation in a 250 year old barn, in an environmentally responsible way.
It is aimed at walkers, cyclists & people enjoying the surrounding beautiful countryside.
The Barn has many environmental features including solar panels (on its bike shed!), rainwater harvesting & local varieties of apple trees in the garden.
We aim to open at weekends, during school holidays and on as many other nights as we can between Easter & October.

On Sunday 19th May over 1000 local children will take part in the Schools Triathlon event at Cranleigh School. We are looking for local volunteers of all ages to support them as they swim, cycle and run to raise money for Restless Development and 100's of other local charities supported by participating schools.
No specific skills or previous experience is needed, just an enthusiastic attitude to help the day run smoothly. Roles include - signing in all the excited triathletes, stewarding marshals based at the bike and run courses, or handing out medals at the finish line.
Volunteers will receive free refreshments and a Volunteer t-shirt.
Morning shifts are from 07:30-13:00, afternoon shifts are from 12:30-17:30 or you can volunteer for the full day.

Treasurer
![]()
Wanted: A volunteer Treasurer, ideally with accounting qualifications who is happy to work from home. Our current Treasurer, who has just stepped down, will continue as a Trustee and will provide handover support to the new Treasurer.
The Role: To oversee financial planning and management, ensuring financial viability of our events and courses, provide regular financial reports to the Board and Management team, supervise daily accounting activities performed by the Financial Assistant, and collaborate with the external accountant on final accounts to Companies House and Charity Commission.
We are: A yoga teacher training organisation. We are a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity. Our trustees, management team and members are spread around the country (and abroad).
How much time is needed? The amount of time spent in the role is variable depending on the time of year. Preparation for the quarterly meetings and preparing the end of year accounts will need more time but an average of 2 – 3 hours a week will suffice.
We meet: As a management team we meet online using Zoom 3-times a year on a Wednesday at 1pm, plus an annual AGM and occasional sub-group meetings. Our part-time virtual Finance Assistant deals with the day-to-day finances.
