Do you want to be part of a new project?

Do you want to make a difference to a childs life?

Do you have a couple of hours each week?

Guildford action and Surrey county council are working together to build relationships with children and adults in this new programme called big brother big sister UK, it is a long term mentoring scheme set to enhance the lives of children who otherwise may not get a chance to experience the things many of us take for granted.

We are looking for volunteers who can give an hour or so a week to take these children and help to build memories with them.

Full training will be given

Enhanced DBS will be carried out.

Guildford Action, with its homeless day service and family out reach team based at the Beverley Hall Community Centre in Haydon Place, has a role for a receptionist at its Welcome Desk.

You will be the welcoming face at Guildford Action where we support individuals and families with multiple disadvantages.

Duties to include signing-in clients and visitors, establishing what their needs are, updating staff, answering  calls / taking messages, collating lunch lists and occasional other admin duties.

This will help us create a warm and welcoming environment for all.

Hours needed to cover are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 2pm, and happy to take anything in those hours.

Guildford Action, with its homeless day service and family outreach team based at in Guildford, now has a garden allotment for the people it helps.

A couple of volunteers are needed to help get it up and running and then to look after it all with assistance by staff at Guildford Action.

The allotment is at the new site at North Moors, Slyfield.

🎨 We’re looking for a creative soul!

Love getting crafty? Want to share that joy with others in a relaxed, friendly space?

We’re on the lookout for someone who can help us run arts and crafts sessions for people who come to our day service. Whether you love painting, collage, knitting, card-making, seasonal crafts or just getting stuck into something creative – we’d love to hear from you!

👐 What you’ll be doing:

• Helping plan and run chilled, creative sessions

• Encouraging people to have a go – no experience needed!

• Being a friendly face, supporting others to express themselves

• Setting up and tidying away (we all know crafts can get a bit messy!)

• Most importantly – creating a space where people feel welcome and valued

🧶 What we’re looking for:

• Someone who enjoys being creative

• A good listener who’s kind and patient

• You don’t need to be a professional artist – just happy to share and connect

• Willing to get involved and have a giggle along the way!
