Buckinghamshire & Surrey Trading Standards
Mission Statement
Buckinghamshire and Surrey County Council Trading Standards Service aims to create an environment of confident consumers and trusted traders by providing advice and guidance to consumers and businesses. However there will be occasions when a range of different actions may be necessary to deal with cases where trading standards laws have been breached by businesses or others. Our work, campaigns and projects can be found on the Business and consumers page: http://www.surreycc.gov.uk/business-and-consumers/trading-standards

General Interests
Green Hub Project for Teens
Mission Statement
The Green Hub Project for Teens is a local community project aimed at promoting the wellbeing of teenagers’ mental health through social and therapeutic horticulture.
In partnership with the GPs, schools, youth agencies and parents, we enable teen referrals to enjoy nature, while gardening alongside and interacting with our skilled volunteers and other teenagers.
Our goal is to achieve positive, measurable outcomes for teens’ mental wellbeing, self-love, active lifestyles, social interaction and inclusion, as well as the development and application of a range of useful life skills.

Home-Start Guildford
Mission Statement
Parents Supporting Other Parents - a simple idea that really works!
Home-Start Guildford has been supporting families for more than 20 years. We are a charity and voluntary organisation that aims to prevent family crisis or breakdown by offering regular volunteer support to parents who are under stress with at least one child under the age of 5, usually referred to us by Health Visitors.
We recruit and train volunteers who are parents themselves, to visit the families at home for a few hours once a week and offer them informal, friendly and confidential support, as well as practical help.
This support is aimed to help parents grow in confidence, strengthen their relationships with their children and widen their links with the local community. Ultimately this support helps the children have the best possible start in life.
Please see the volunteer role for more detail.
