How Can You Get Involved?

Greeters: Help create a welcoming and organized environment for clients, ensuring their experience is smooth and efficient.

Intake Specialists: Help clients to fill out intake forms, while gathering the appropriate tax documents from clients. 

Tax Preparers: Receive training and certification to assist clients with tax preparation. No prior experience is required, and training is provided.

Site Coordinators: Oversee the tax site to ensure a smooth operation while also ensuring compliance with all IRS and VITA program guidelines.

Volunteer Opportunities

Greeter

Key Responsibilities:​

  • Warm Welcome: Greet clients with a friendly smile and make them feel comfortable and valued as soon as they enter the VITA center.​
  • Appointment Coordination: Help clients check in for their appointments and guide them to the appropriate tax preparer.​
  • Provide Information: Offer basic information about the VITA program, its services, and eligibility criteria to clients who may have questions.​
  • Queue Management: Maintain an organized waiting area to ensure clients are seen in a timely and efficient manner.​
