Sarah's House

Our state-licensed child care center has been in operation since 1992, and offers child care services to children ages 6 weeks-12 years old Monday-Friday 7a-6p.

In Kind Donation Drives

Are you unable to volunteer on property due to your schedule/location?  If your answer is, "Yes!" we have the perfect solution.

Help us collect In Kind Donations to benefit the women, children, and men that reside in our emergency shelters.  In Kind Donation Drives are ongoing throughout the year and do not require volunteers to participate in the New Volunteer Orientation and/or any type of training. Simply select the items(s) that you wish to collect among friends, family, colleagues, businesses, etc. then select a date(s) and time(s) to drop off the collected items.

Donation drive items should be brought to 2015 20th Street Fort Meade, MD 20755 main office building with the blue and white Sarah's House located in front of the bldg. on the date(s) and time(s) you selected. Select a date/time far enough in advance that will allow you time to collect as many items as possible prior to your scheduled drop off date/time.

Effective October 1, 2019, Anne Arundel County will place a ban on Styrofoam products. In our effort to help save the environment, we are asking our community supporters to choose environmentally friendly kitchen paper products on their next shopping sphere for Sarah’s House. Updated donation Policy

Monday, April 22

In order to be better stewards of donations from the community, Sarah’s House is excited to partner with Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake!

Effective, Monday April 22nd we will no longer be accepting donations of used clothing or toys at the shelter.   All donations of used clothing and toys should be taken to a Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake location, where you will be able to receive a receipt for your generosity.

In exchange, Goodwill will allow us to bring Clients to shop at their store (paid for with vouchers provided to the shelter), helping us to eliminate inefficient use of donations and provide for the immediate needs of those we serve. There is no need to specify that your donation should benefit Sarah’s House, as vouchers will be provided to us regardless of amount of donations received.

We will accept donations of new toys, new clothing, new pillows and personal hygiene items between the hours of 9:30 – 11:30 am and 4:30 – 7:30 pm daily.   We will also still be accepting donations of gently used towels, wash rags and twin bed linen at the shelter as well.

We truly appreciate your support in this matter!
