Hahndorf Academy

Situated in the centre of the picturesque village of Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills, the Hahndorf Academy is a magical place where visual arts and heritage meet.
The Academy Shop showcases quality hand crafted products by local and regional artists and designers. We are proud to stock works from over 100 local artists in our beautiful shop including glass, jewellery, prints, cards, skin care, books, clothing and original artwork.
There is an ever-changing panorama of contemporary visual art to discover in our Gallery,
You can also absorb the local history in our German Migration Museum and be captivated by objects and stories relating to the lives of Hahndorf’s pioneering families. Starting out as a boarding school, and later a maternity hospital, if the walls of the 19th Century Heritage building could talk they would tell remarkable stories of history and courage and fear and excitement as early settlers created new lives for themselves.

General Interests
Hahndorf Town Band
Hi there,
Thank you for showing interest in volunteering for the Hahndorf Town Band, we are an organisation of musicians who meet once a week to rehearse and learn music in a fun, family atmosphere. We have learning programs to teach both children and adults to play instruments and develop a love of music. As a band we have many performances throughout the year which we organise and as we are players as well it would be good if we had some volunteers to help out with some of these organisational tasks. there is also a library of music that needs control and instruments to keep tidy and in good condition as well as a hall and grounds that require ongoing maintenance. Also, brass and percussion instrumentalists are always needed. Please contact us to find out more about how you can make a difference to our organisation.

Meals on Wheels Stirling
|
Working throughout South Australia, Meals on Wheels is a not-for-profit, community-based volunteer organisation that improves the diet and wellbeing of less able people by cooking and delivering thousands of meals each week. And we have been doing that for seventy years! We provide freshly cooked, hot, delicious, nutritious, three-course meals every weekday, plus frozen meals for weekends, public holidays or times when clients are away from home. Our clients include those who easily cannot cook or shop for themselves, including older people, people with a disability, carers and those recovering from illness or injury. Volunteer With Us And Make A Difference! Research shows that home-delivered meal programs significantly reduce food insecurity whilst improving diet quality, social connectivity, and people’s quality-of-life. And as a volunteer you will benefit by feeling part of your local supportive, cohesive and caring community. Locally Based Our Stirling Branch helps people in the Aldgate, Bridgewater, Crafers, Crafers West, Heathfield, Mylor, Piccadilly, Stirling, Summertown, Upper Sturt and Uraidla areas. Variety of Volunteer Roles available
Torrens Valley Community Kindergym

We are a small community kindergym run by a parent committee and we are based in the Gumeracha Town Hall. Our classes are on Monday mornings during term time with an all-ages class from 9:30-10:30am and an under 2-year class from 11-11:45am.
Ideally, we would love a volunteer to assist from 9am-12pm (time negotiable) to support our leader with any last minute set up and then to sit in the foyer and welcome, check in members on our excel spreadsheet, process square device EFTPOS and then attend the sessions to support the leader and families. We require a working with children police check (free for volunteers). This role would be great for a retiree, student or anyone interested in supporting the local community. We will provide full support and training to make the person comfortable in the role.
