Heart Foundation Walking
The Heart Foundation wants to support more people to walk more often, as it’s one of the simplest yet best things we can do for a healthy mind, body and heart. The program has nearly 100 groups in SA, and people can be part of a group by joining an existing group in their local area or by starting their own group.
Walking groups can be any size and walk at various times, days, lengths, and levels of difficulty. Everyone is encouraged to walk at their own pace.
Heart Foundation Walking is Australia’s largest walking group network, with over 750 groups nationwide, including more that 350 specialty groups—such as parents with prams, support groups, indoor walking groups, people with health conditions (e.g. cardiac rehab, cancer), workplace teams, cultural and community groups, men’s and women’s walking groups.

Sammy D Foundation
The Sammy D Foundation educates young people on the impacts of bullying, and drug and alcohol fuelled violence. By providing relevant age-appropriate knowledge and tools, young people are empowered to make positive life decisions for a better community.
The Sammy D Foundation’s Mentoring Program provides one to one support for a young person who may be experiencing some level of disadvantage, social isolation or needs a positive role model. The young people are aged between 7-17 years and living in the Adelaide Hills, Mount Barker, Murray Bridge, and surrounding suburbs.
