Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme
- Do you enjoy a chat?
- Or are you keen to meet someone new and interesting in your community?
- Ever considered becoming a Volunteer Visitor?
We have opportunities for chatty and empathetic Volunteer Visitors, who are good listeners, and enjoy being with older people.
By volunteering as a Volunteer Visitor, you will provide friendship and conversation to socially isolated elderly individuals living either at home or in residential care.
If you have 1 hour per fortnight to connect, share and celebrate life experiences then consider volunteering as a Volunteer Visitor. We have multiple opportunities for people to join our team in the Adelaide Hills and Mount Barker regions.
The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme is an Australian Government funded program established to promote links between people living in an aged care home or in their own homes and the wider community.
To find out more about this volunteer role please contact the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme Team Leader Sonja on 0419 866 385 or go to the Lutheran Care website https://www.lutherancare.org.au/ and apply to volunteer.

Meals on Wheels Stirling
Working throughout South Australia, Meals on Wheels is a not-for-profit, community-based volunteer organisation that improves the diet and wellbeing of less able people by cooking and delivering thousands of meals each week. And we have been doing that for seventy years! We provide freshly cooked, hot, delicious, nutritious, three-course meals every weekday, plus frozen meals for weekends, public holidays or times when clients are away from home. Our clients include those who easily cannot cook or shop for themselves, including older people, people with a disability, carers and those recovering from illness or injury. Volunteer With Us And Make A Difference! Research shows that home-delivered meal programs significantly reduce food insecurity whilst improving diet quality, social connectivity, and people’s quality-of-life. And as a volunteer you will benefit by feeling part of your local supportive, cohesive and caring community. Locally Based Our Stirling Branch helps people in the Aldgate, Bridgewater, Crafers, Crafers West, Heathfield, Mylor, Piccadilly, Stirling, Summertown and Uraidla areas. Contact Sue on 0413 940 711 if you are interested in helping others in your local community and finding out more about volunteering with us. Volunteer to make a difference
Our volunteer program is dedicated to providing support and companionship to older adults. We believe that every person has the right to a good quality of life.
Our volunteers play a key role in delivering the care and social support older people need and encouraging healthy ageing. Our program offers a wide range of opportunities for individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of seniors.
For example, you can choose to visit socially with residents in an aged care home or assist them with leisure and wellness activities. You might prefer to participate in events, drive a buggy in a retirement village or even support in the café.
Whether for a few hours a week or a few hours a month, you can make a difference in our community. The program is not just about the benefits for our residents and clients, it is also rewarding for volunteers. You have the opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills, and gain valuable experience working with older adults.
Our volunteer team will work with you so that you are matched with a role that suits your skills and interests.
