Our Opportunities

Entertainers and Performers

Musician with guitar2

Entertainers and Performers offer live music, singing, dancing or other activities that bring joy and delight to clients.

Do you sing, play and instrument, or perform? We would be thrilled to host your performance at one of our care facilities! Come volunteer to share your talents with residents, their families, and friends.

Visit once in a while to bring a burst of sunshine, or come regularly and give residents a special treat to look forward to.

We are actively recruiting for this role across many locations - especially at Mountainview Lodge in Kitimat.

Therapy Dog Team

Therapy Dog Team volunteers bring smiles, comfort, and connection to clients all across Northern Health. These specially trained and screened therapy dog teams help brighten lives by reducing stress and anxiety, sparking joyful memories, and supporting emotional and physical well-being.

Requirements:

  • Volunteers must provide their own certified therapy dog
  • Therapy dog certification must be provided by a recognized therapy dog program
  • Proof of dog vaccination required

We are recruiting certified therapy dog teams in all locations.

Community Groups

Companies, community organizations, schools, and teams support our facilities and programs by contributing to our mission of providing exceptional health services for Northerners.

Please contact us if your group would like to contribute to a special event such as a day of garden clean-up, Christmas decorating, or hosting a fan-con event!

Northern Health Auxiliaries

Health care auxiliaries play a key role in supporting the needs of our hospitals, health care centres, and health services in communities all across Northern Health. Each auxiliary is made up of a board of community leaders and countless volunteers.

Visit the Northern Health Hospital Auxiliary page to find out more about the auxiliary in your community and how to apply.
