Do you want to make a difference in the life of someone with mental illness? We are seeking volunteers to assist resident living in mental health group homes where isolation and loneliness can negatively impact their lives. Volunteers may visit, go for walks, provide fitness programs, teach arts and crafts, play board games, go to movies, or enjoy a common interest in the community.

We are looking for enthusiastic, compassionate and inclusive volunteers

Your time and companionship can have a huge positive effect—and it's so rewarding!

  • Social companions for both men and women to go for walks and talk, or have coffee and conversation with a resident
  • Program leaders for group home activities such as playing cards or board games
  • Arts program assistants
  • Provide fitness programs or accompany a resident to the gym or activity centre
  • Therapeutic yoga teachers at various sites
  • Do you have a musical talent to share? Playing piano or guitar at a group home will brighten the lives of the residents

These volunteer positions can provide invaluable experience for students or persons interested in mental health, psychiatry and other health-related fields.

Ongoing support and training is provided.
