Foster Care - Gippsland
Help provide a safe, supportive and loving home for a child or young person in need.
The role of a foster carer is crucial in ensuring that Victoria’s youths are provided with the support they need to develop in a safe and nurturing environment. A kind and empathetic foster carer can offer a sense of stability and security that can change a young person’s life.
Types of care we need:
- Weekend respite, looking after children and young people living with a foster care family for occasional or regularly scheduled weekends.
- Short-term care, which ranges from a few days to a few months, depending on the child or young person's needs.
- Long-term care, when the child or young person is not expected to return to their family.
- If you’re interested in making a meaningful difference in the lives of Victoria’s young people, consider becoming a foster carer. Our program provides extensive training and support to ensure that you’re fully prepared to offer the best possible care to your foster child.
The first step is getting in touch. We can answer all your questions and help you make an informed decision about taking the next step.
For more information on becoming a accredited foster carer please visit https://www.unitingvictas.org.au/services/family-services/foster-care/

Breezeway Community Meals - Ballarat

Be part of the action!
Become a BreezeWay volunteer and take action to end homelessness in Ballarat.
Every lunchtime since January 1, 1998, a dedicated crew of volunteers has been behind the stove working to provide hot meals and sandwich packs for those in need across Ballarat.
During this time, volunteers have served up more than 500,000 meals and put a smile on the face of the many thousands of people who have come through their doors.
“I've never worked at an organisation with such compassionate and hard-working individuals.” – a meals volunteer
With the doors open 365 days of the year, volunteering with Breezeway is flexible and rewarding. If you have 4 hours a month to spare and a passion to make an impact in the lives of people we support, by creating a place for people to feel safe, to belong, and to connect. We would like you to join our dedicated team.

Volunteer in the heart of the Sale community!
Our aim is to delight customers in a meaningful and memorable way in a contemporary retail environment that is creative, inclusive and fun! From creating a vibrant and dynamic space using imaginative displays to serving and assisting customers, working behind the scenes with sorting and tagging stock there is always so much fun to be had at Uniting Op Shops. We work with physical stock in stores, so there may be some manual work involved.
If you’re passionate about style, enjoy helping people, or want to make a positive impact through the circular economy, this is the perfect opportunity for you. By volunteering with Uniting Op Shops, you support local programs, strengthen communities and help keep good quality items out of landfill. Your time really does make a difference.
Volunteers are the heart of our Op Shops, and we make it easy to fit volunteering into your life with flexible shifts available seven days a week.
