Current Opportunities
Concierge Volunteers
We are seeking new volunteers to join our Concierge team at University Hospital Geelong to support Barwon Health and our Consumers through a period of building and development.
Concierge Volunteers complete shifts on weekdays.
Our Concierge Volunteers provide a first point of contact for the several hundred people who pass through the main entrance each day. It is a busy space with the opportunity to be immensely helpful to consumers, their families and visitors.
It is an exciting time to join Barwon Health with a number of building developments happening. The building works mean changed access conditions and departments / clinics moving. Our Concierge Volunteers provide a vital service to Barwon Health and our consumers helping things to flow smoothly. This important role is needed now more than ever!
Your role will be to offer support and guidance through these changes - directing people to where they need to be. Your welcome and reassurance will ensure our consumers feel supported. In addition Concierge Volunteers undertake tasks such as restocking surgical masks at hospital entrances, receiving deliveries such as flowers and supporting the allied health equipment loans program.
Our Current available shifts are as follows:
UHG Main Entrance Mondays - 12pm to 4pm
UHG Main Entrance Thursday - 12pm to 4pm
Youang Surgery Centre Entrance - 9:30am to 2:30pm
Our current volunteers tell us the things they enjoy about this role are meeting new people and knowing that that they can help. If you enjoy a fast-paced environment and being able to make a difference to somebody’s day this can be a very rewarding role.
We offer extensive training and support to ensure you are ready to help. A Volunteer Coordinator will support you through the onboarding process. We offer a suite of eLearning modules which you can complete at a pace you feel comfortable with. There will be compliance requirements including a police check and immunisation requirements to be completed. Once training and compliance are finalised you will be supported through buddy shifts which allow you to observe and learn at your pace.
If you are interested to take the next step we would love to hear from you!
