Volunteer with the District of Saanich

Create a welcoming space for older adults to connect over coffee, conversation, goodies and games! Duties include preparing light refreshments, welcoming participants, sharing community resources, and facilitating activities and conversations. Shifts are once per week for 2-2.5 hours. Ages 19+.

Want to help at the 59th annual Strawberry Festival on Sunday, July 5 at Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park? This fun and family-friendly community event features live music, kids' activities, bouncy castles, information booths, arts and craft stations and the traditional afternoon service of strawberries and ice cream. All volunteers will receive a BBQ ticket and free serving of strawberries and ice cream - for those with shorter shifts, please plan to use your meal voucher before you volunteer.

We are looking for volunteers to help with the following roles:

Whether you're preparing decorations for Autumn Lantern Fest, leading crafts at Family Arts Fest, or serving up ice cream at Strawberry Fest, you are bound to have a memorable volunteer experience at these vibrant community gatherings. With a new focus on sustainable practices at Saanich events, there will also be opportunities for you to join "behind the scenes" teams helping with waste reduction and diversion. Ages 15+.
