                                      Join the Team at Domestic Animal Services

Domestic Animal Services is the dedicated animal management services for the Australian Capital Territory. We're responsible for managing dangerous dogs, promoting responsible pet ownership, and caring for impounded dogs. 

Are you passionate about animals? Do you enjoy helping others? Are you active and looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? If you answered yes, volunteering with us could be the perfect opportunity for you! 

As a volunteer, you'll help care for dogs, support re-homing process, and connect with your community in a fun and fulfilling way.

Click the 'Fill in an application' button to get started. You'll be prompted to register for My Impact before accessing the application form. 

Please note that intake availability may vary depending on capacity. If you choose to proceed, your application will remain active, and you will be contacted accordingly.

How to get involved

Sign up now using our registration form. As a new volunteer you will need to create an account then fill out the simple application form. If we need to discuss your application further we'll be in contact, otherwise you're good to go. And don't forget to read the Transport Canberra and City Services Volunteer Handbook.

Who to contact

Before heading off to your volunteering activity, we recommend you contact your interested group. You can find a list of groups and information about their activities after you've joined by visiting  and logging into the myimpact page.
