Volunteer Opportunities

Dog Walking

Volunteer Dog Walking with Domestic Animal Services

About the Role
As a Dog Walking Volunteer, you'll play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing of the dogs in care. You will assist kennel staff by providing exercise, enrichment, and basic lead training to dogs - many of whom are larger breeds with little to no prior training.

Walks take place on a scenic 1.6km nature trail located next to the shelter. During these outings, you'll help dogs burn off energy, learn basic commands, like sit, stay, and wait and gain valuable socialisation skills. This not only improves their quality of life but also increases their chance of being successfully adopted.
