Shop by Phone Phoner
Shop by Phone Phoner volunteers contact their assigned senior client(s) on a weekly basis to take their grocery order over the phone. The grocery order form is then emailed to Citizen Support Services and the volunteer shoppers take it from there.
Volunteer Visitor
Volunteer Visitors provide a friendly visit once a week to a Burnaby senior, who is isolated or simply would like to make a social connection in person. Volunteer visits are typically 1-2 hours and can be in the senior client’s home or out in the community.

Current Volunteer Opportunities
Dry Floor Activities
When the ice is out in the arenas we run sport programs and drop-in sport activities such as inline skating, soccer, ball hockey, lacrosse and pickleball. Volunteers are welcome to at our instructional programs and our drop-in services.
Skating Activities
Assist with skating lessons for Preschool age 3 -5 years and Children 6 - 12 years.

Fine Arts Program Assistant
The Shadbolt Centre offers volunteer opportunities throughout the year in Fine Arts programs such as Summer Camps, Art Workshops, Special Events, and Community Events.
Shadbolt Theatre Usher
Enrich the patron experience and promote safety and comfort for our Theatre guests. Shows take place throughout the year in two theatres at the Shadbolt Centre.
NOTE: We are not doing intake for new Shadbolt Theatre volunteers at this time. Please feel free to submit your application and we will contact you when Theatre opportunities become available.
