Burnaby Blooms features eco-art installations, educational and cultural walking tours, gardening workshops, art activities, roving performers, community booths and free entertainment all day.

Burnaby Blooms promotes the long-term sustainability and ecological health of our community in a fun and creative environment.

Sunday June 21st at Burnaby Civic Square 

NIPD is a community celebration to honour, recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures, and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Metis peoples. All are welcome to participate.

This event includes storytelling, performances, an Indigenous artisan market, and free activities throughout the day.

Wednesday July 1st at Burnaby Central Park, Central Blvd, and Civic Square

Burnaby’s Canada Day StreetFest celebration is the City’s largest outdoor event, with 40,000+ participants!

StreetFest on Central includes a family focused activity area with performances at Civic square, a pedestrian-friendly street closure along Central Ave with entertainment and community activations, a huge main stage with variety of lively performers, and a grand fireworks finale at Central Park. The event is free to the public and offers activities and entertainment for all ages.

Sat. July 18th and Sun. July 19th at Deer Lake

Join the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra for a free summer performance amid the spectacular beauty of Deer Lake Park on Saturday, followed on Sunday by the Vancouver Opera featuring highlights from some of the world's most beloved operatic classics.

Both days includes family activities and pre-concert entertainment -- on Saturday presented by the VSO School of Music and the VSO Orchestral Institute, and on Sunday with family activities and pre-concert entertainment from the VO Young Artists program and others.

Sat. July 25, Civic Square

Burnaby Pride is a collaborative community initiative organized by a number of agencies and volunteers in Burnaby alongside City staff. The Burnaby Pride Celebration is going into its seventh year in 2024 and features musicians, drag performers, community groups, arts activities, food trucks, and more.

Saturday August 8th at Deer Lake 

Set against the scenic backdrop of Deer Lake Park, the 2024 Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival is an unforgettable celebration of music, community and culture. This year's eclectic lineup includes  legendary American singer and human rights activist Mavis Staples, Southwest-flavored indie rock band Calexico, and more.

This event is FREE and will feature multiple performances plus a kids’ activity area, an artisan market, and food trucks. New this year: no fences or entrance gates!

Since 2000, the festival lawn of Deer Lake Park in Burnaby has played host to a wide array of professional blues and roots artists originating from around the world. In 2024 the Festival will expand to encompass a wider range of genres.

Friday Oct 30 at Burnaby Central Park, 6:00to 8:00pm (fireworks at 7:30)

The City of Burnaby celebrates Halloween and fall traditions with CENTRAL SPARK -- a fireworks-centered event at Central Park focused on family fun.

Featuring spooky art installations/photo ops, roving entertainers, a costumed dance party, food trucks, and a grand drone show and fireworks finale. Costumes are encouraged!
