LIFELINE BOOKFEST JANUARY 2022 - POSTPONED

It is with deep sadness that we announce the postponement of the upcoming January Lifeline Brisbane Bookfest. The Brisbane Bookfest is the biggest fundraiser for Queensland's Lifeline Crisis Support Services, and the decision to put Bookfest on hold was a tough one. However, we believe it is necessary due to the COVID-19 developments unfolding in South East Queensland. We understand there’s much anticipation for this event, however, our primary concern is the health and safety of customers, volunteers and team members. While the decision was not made lightly, we feel it is in the best interests of our community.

We will continue to monitor the situation over the coming weeks and our team will make further announcements on new dates in the future.

In the meantime please be safe and take care. You are precious to us!

COVID-19 vaccination policy: What Bookfest volunteers need to know

Volunteers are the cornerstone of Bookfest and we can’t wait to welcome you back to Queensland’s largest second-hand book sale in 2022.

It is important to know that from Friday, 10 December 2021, all UnitingCare volunteers need to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. More information about this policy can be found here

This means Bookfest volunteers need to submit proof of their COVID-19 vaccination certificate before to signing up and volunteering for Bookfest 2022.

How to submit your certificate

You can either
  • Email to the Volunteer Management Team at volunteer@uccommunity.org.au and we will upload it for you. OR
  • Upload it here, if you have a Better Impact account. Login, then go to My Profile; then Additional Info. Scroll down to the bottom to the header COVID-19 VACCINATION. Once uploaded, don’t forget to click Save!

Once we have received and verified your certificate, you will receive an email inviting you to sign up for shifts at the January 2022 Brisbane Bookfest.

If you're not sure how to get your certificate, you can read these instructions on how to get your COVID certificate from the Australian government.

The health and safety of the people we serve, our employees and volunteers remains our highest priority. Thank you for your ongoing adaptability to the ever-changing COVID-19 situation and we look forward to seeing you at Brisbane Bookfest in January 2022.
