Generosity Services Assistant

Thank you for your interest in this volunteer role with our Provincial Office.  The full role description is presented below.

Please note that this is an in-person role at our Provincial Office, 1245 East 7th Avenue
Vancouver BC. We are seeking a few volunteers who can provide support during the shifts listed below and in the role description.

Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Join our team of like-minded individuals as a Cat Care volunteer with the BC SPCA! Work with our staff and volunteers to provide a clean, healthy, and safe environment for cats in our care. Your support will make a great impact for vulnerable felines in our community.

Animal Centre - Maintenance

Join our team of like-minded individuals as a Maintenance volunteer with the BC SPCA! Work in partnership with staff and volunteers to provide regular maintenance and cleaning of the animal care centre in your community. Your support will ensure the health and safety for all pets and people at the facility.

Please note: Only applicants who meet all of the listed criteria for each opportunity will be considered.

 

 

Supporting Cats and Small Animals Onsite:

 

  • Age: 16 years or older
  • Experience: Prior experience with cats preferred
  • Commitment required: weekly shift attendance for 6 months until May 2026 (please consider your upcoming availability and priorities)
  • Availability Needed:
    • Monday - Sunday
    • Morning shifts: 10am - 12pm
    • PM shifts: 12:30pm - 2:30pm, 3pm - 5pm
  • Shift availability will change as applicants are onboarded.  
  • Please note volunteers may be asked to support BOTH cats and small animals during shifts.

 

Onboarding process includes:

  • Mandatory online training
  • Onsite hands-on training if applicable
  • Note: Applicants will only receive invitation to orientation after successful screening and completion of online training.

 

 

Foster opportunity - animals in care at this centre

  • Age: 19 years or older
  • Animal Profiles: Cats, kittens, and a variety of small animals
  • Animals requiring behaviour support (e.g., under-socialized cats or dogs)
  • Animals with medical needs, including those recovering from surgery
  • Commitment: minimum 6-month commitment from your onboarding date
  • Please consider your availability and any upcoming personal commitments before applying
  • Completion of mandatory online training is required prior to fostering

Landscape Volunteer Lead

  • Age: 19 years or older
  • Basic understanding of landscaping and garden maintenance preferred
  • Commitment: minimum 6-month commitment from your onboarding date
  • Please consider your availability and any upcoming personal commitments before applying
  • Please note that this role does require the completion of mandatory online and onsite training.

 

 

Animal Transport Volunteer

  • Age: 19 years or older
  • Documents Required:
    • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
    • Clean driving record 
  • Commitment: Minimum 6-month commitment starting from your onboarding date
  • Please consider your personal schedule and any upcoming commitments before applying
  • Please note that this role does require the completion of mandatory online and onsite training.

Join our team of like-minded individuals as a Cat Care & Wellness volunteer with the BC SPCA! Work in partnership with staff and volunteers to ensure our cats environments are clean, and their emotional & physical needs are met through daily engagement and BC SPCA-approved training techniques.

Work directly with staff & volunteers to ensure potential adopters and patrons are directed to the right resources, and provide excellent customer service to those looking for our support.
