Community Services-Based Model in Vernon
With the closure of our physical centre, we have shifted to a community services-based model. We are thrilled to deepen our connection with the community, making it more accessible for volunteers like you to participate in meaningful ways such as fostering animals, providing transportation, supporting events and more.
A significant addition to our programs in Vernon is the Safekeepers Program, which offers vital support to individuals fleeing interpersonal violence. Volunteers in the Safekeepers Program provide temporary homes for pets, ensuring that everyone in the family, including the animals, can transition to a new environment safely. This initiative underscores the importance of our volunteers, who play a key role in fostering community resilience and compassion. → More information about the Safekeepers program
