These fast-paced events have professional engineers, professional geoscientists, and human resources experts helping students and new graduates take the first steps in their careers by providing valuable resume feedback and interview coaching in a fun, fast-paced format. This is a great opportunity to network, give back to the community and maybe even meet a future star employee.

Time Commitment 

Approximately 2-hours per event.

Duties & Expectations

Skills and Qualifications

  • Conduct virtual 1-1 resume reviews or mock interviews with students and emerging professionals
  • Provide guidance and advice to help individuals advance their careers
  • Positively represent APEGA as an ambassador of the association
  • APEGA Professional Member, M.I.T., or Human Resources Professional
  • Willingness to share knowledge and network with young professionals
  • Professional experience in conducting employment interviews
  • Professional experience reviewing resumes

Mentoring Café

 

 

Come be a part of something new and exciting! APEGA seeks experienced Engineers and Geoscientists to provide on-demand mentorship to engineering and geoscience students for our new Mentoring Café university outreach initiative. Volunteers will meet virtually with students for approximately 30 minutes on a flexible schedule to provide advice and guidance on succeeding in their fields. This is a great opportunity to share your expertise and make a difference in someone's life and career.

 

Time Commitment

Approximately 1 – 3 hours per month

Skills and Qualifications

  • Meet virtually with university students to provide career advice and answer questions they may have about working as a professional engineer or geoscientist
  • Practicing or retired professional Engineer or Geoscientist or human resources professional
  • At least 1 year of experience reviewing resumes in a professional capacity
