APEGA - Examinations

Professional Practice Examination Screening Group (PPESG)

The Opportunity

APEGA is currently seeking professional members to serve on the newly created Professional Practice Examination Screening Group (PPESG). This group assists APEGA staff in developing appropriate questions for a current, meaningful, and relevant examination - the “National Professional Practice Examination” (NPPE) - of the professional, ethical, regulatory, and legal responsibilities of a practicing licensed professional. It does this through reviewing and assessing new questions to ensure that they are appropriate for the member’s jurisdiction and profession, the blueprint, and for comprehension.

Time Commitment

  • Independent review and comment of 45-50 questions per month (4-6 hours per month)
  • Occasional short virtual meetings as needed to clarify comments (1-2 hours per month)
  • Annual in-person meeting and training session in APEGA’s Edmonton or Calgary office (expenses paid by APEGA) (1-2 days, plus travel)

3-year term

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess new questions when requested by APEGA staff and provide comments through an online platform, in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain knowledge of the Professional Practice Examination blueprint and suggested reading materials.
