APEGA - Registration Committee
The registration committee reviews applications for registration as a professional member, a licensee, or a professional licensee according to the terms of the Engineering and Geoscience Professions Act and general regulation. The Registration Committee ensures applicants meet the requirements before registration is approved and considers matters of policy, significant changes in procedure, examination results, and other matters referred by the Registration Executive Committee or Council.
Average time commitment
Three-year term with the option for renewal at the end of each term. Additional time commitments include:
- Review 5–15 files per month (equivalent to about 10 hours per month)
- Attend two workshops per year for training
- Attend monthly one-hour Webex updates for training, policy, and tools (optional)
- Participate in Full Academic Committee or Full Experience Committee discussion groups via Webex or teleconference (optional)

Starting a career in a new industry can be a daunting task. Between applications and interviews there’s many places where candidates can go wrong. Help set the next generation of engineers and geoscientists on the career path by volunteering as part of APEGA’s University Outreach Program. Our events are designed to give upcoming professionals the skills they need to kickstart their careers and range from mock-interviews, to discussion panels, to resume review sessions. Professional Members with hiring experience, or human resource professionals are invited to share their expertise at our upcoming events!

APEGA's Virtual Resume Review opportunity is seeking volunteers with hiring and resume review experience to provide anonymous feedback on student resumes through a digital platform. Please consider donating a few hours of your time with this vital opportunity for students to ensure that their application rises to the top of the pile.
Skills and qualifications
- Professional engineer, professional geoscientist, professional geologist, professional geophysicist, or professional licensee designation and in good standing with APEGA
- 1+ years formal hiring experience
Emerging Professionals Summit
The Emerging Professionals Summit 2022 will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022. The virtual summit is an engaging day of interactive learning, informative discussions, and networking opportunities for members-in-training and post-secondary students.
This year's summit will build upon last year's event and continue advancing the skills and knowledge of young engineering and geoscience professionals across Canada.
Our speakers include industry leaders and APEGA representatives who will help you understand your professional responsibilities, gain workplace skills, and take your career to the next level.
The day wraps up with a networking reception—an evening to build your network and demonstrate your own personal brand.
